On 14th December 2020, Google services encompassing Gmail, Youtube Google Docs, etc. faced an issue. The official statement released by Google stated the glitch was an 'internal quota storage issue'. Users all across the globe faced issues while accessing it and this problem extended for 45 minutes approximately.

The official statement released by Google read 'Today, at 3.47 AM PT Google experienced an authentication system outage for approximately 45 minutes due to an internal storage quota issue. Services requiring users to log in experienced high error rates during this period. The authentication system issue was resolved at 4:32 AM PT. All services are now restored. We apologise to everyone affected, and we will conduct a thorough follow up review to ensure this problem cannot recur in the future."

What does particular error code mean "General failure". Particularly for "General failure", the SFTP server should provide you more details, that you will see next to "Error message from server". Unfortunately, SFTP server shipped with OpenSSH (or Sun SSH) does not. That is, why you see there just "Failure" (very useful).
