Hi, I need some help (BIOS locked)...

Hi so I took everything apart and now Im basically looking at this:

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-A105/big/Toshiba-Satellite-A105-23.jpg

Im thinking the CMOS clock battery is the blue circle thingy (bottom right corner area) now the problem is that there is a metal piece that seems attached to the top of the battery so what do I do?

Thanks!!

Ok i found a couple more things...apparently you dont have to remove the battery.. I found this site that tells you two "jumpers" (solder squares) C88 i believe under the network card. But if you follow this link and follow the directions it will get you going again.

I don't know exactly at what stage you are at and i hope i didn't cause any trouble but this normally is how we take care of this problem. Unless once in a blue moon we come across one like this.

NO POWER FROM STATER

I take it from your comment that the starter is not running. Have you checked the start solenoid for proper operation?

When I got my 10" unit it was locked at the base

Look, after all of what you did and you cannot get anything to work you need to ask for your money back. Did you buy this from eBay? They do have a buyer protection plan. Obviously you did not get what you paid for. Even though you took it all apart it is quite defective. It must have set up too long in extreme conditions such as an attic or storeroom. If indeed it was checked out before you bought it only minor defects would be visible. This is just a suggestion Sir. I know it is not a fix and I'm sorry this happened to you.

Check to make sure amp is not in safe mode, you can turn this on and off in the menu.

2 red lights

The two red lights could also have meant that the AV cable wasnt inserted all the way. Im not exactly sure what the problem is. I would send my console to iRepairsquad.com. They will diagnose the problem for free and tell you an estimate for the repair.

take apart = bad; the hold/lock button was probably engaged - unlock it per the manual
