Question about GE WBVH6240F Front Load Washer
I went to turn my washer on and the door area started clicking and wouldnt stop. It wouldnt let me pause and reopen the door to get a better shut. It kept making the click noise and sounded like it was draining water but wouldnt do anymore than that. I tried shutting the power off and the lit up buttons shut off but the washer stayed in the same mode. We finally had to just unplug it. If you plug it back in, it will make a clicking sound at the door and do the same thing.Help I have wet clothing I cant even get out because the door wont release.
Potential reasons for it: - Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure - In this case it should be replaced. - Door Lock unit is broken or removed from the door. - Look for disconnected wires to the door Lock/Switch unit. - Door Lock/Switch unit Failure You should remove machine's top cover and then you will have an access to the door lock unit. Be aware you should discconect machine's power cable first !! Good luck!

The door will remained locked while draining water. If during installation the washer was plugged in and turned on without water hoses attached, the washer may attempt to drain for 8 minutes before the door unlocks. Let the washer run until the door unlocks. Do not turn off the washer or unplug the washer.
Does water remain in the washer after the final spin?
If water remains in the washer after the final spin, then the door will not unlock. Select Drain/Spin or Spin Only to remove any remaining water from the washer. The door should unlock at the end of the cycle. For models that have Rinse/Drain & Spin, push the Extra Rinse button to turn off the rinse to remove excess water.
Is the door locked and the Add A Garment light on?
If the Add A Garment light is on, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Cancel button is pressed once. Pressing the Start button will restart the washer at the same point where it left off in the cycle.
Is the door locked and the Add A Garment light off?
If the Add A Garment light is off, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Cancel button is pressed twice. The door will not immediately unlock while the cycle is running due to a possible high-water level in the washer, high-water temperature, tumbling or spinning. It may take up to five minutes for the washer to stop spinning and draining before the door will unlock. You will hear the door click when it unlocks.
Trying to gain access into a locked door can be a bit frustrating. Upon researching your question I found some links that may help you unlock your washer door. I attached all links below. I hope this helps!

Usually answered in minutes!
My machine says door locked---but it isn't. It keeps making a clicking sound like it's trying to lock--but doesn't. Makes noise like its running for about a minute but doesn't fill with water-then goes into pause mode. Unplugging does nothing for it. It's only 6 months old!
Please describe the specifics of your problem below. We'll add
your post as a comment to tker's Door clicks and wont open and washer
runs but wont do anything problem, and notify you when a new solution
is offered
I setup the machine mode push start the door locks makes some kind of noise for a few seconds then clicks and stops. Won't do anything else. Everything still on and lit up but won't start again or respond to pause button. Have to push cancel to open door
I load machine set mode speed temp then start. It runs a feew seconds then clicks and stops. Won't start back up and eventually shuts off. Won't respond to the pause button to open the door either
