For some reason the stapler (which is only a couple months old) will not dispense the staples. All I hear is a puff of air, but no staple. There are staples in the stapler and I've checked to see

SOURCE: how do put staples in this stapler?

vaduvur.jpg1. Hold the black handle -- top part -- of the stapler with your right hand thumb and forefinger. 2. Hold the metal casing right beneath the black handle, with your left hand thumb and forefinger. 3. Use your left hand thumb and forefingers and a wedge to separate the top black part and the metal casing beneath it. 4. Bingo!

Note: Switching the two different operations on to the other hand is unlikely to work.

SOURCE: We have a Swingline 690

I had the same problem with my 690. This is what worked for me.. I simply pulled out the staples from the cartridge a little further than the suggested tear-off point, and the machine was able to start working. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: how do I remove a jammed staple?

All you need is to use a thin sharp wire rod to push the damaged/cramped pin out of the hammer. You can achieve this only if you can have such a tool , remove the lid to get access, manually turn aside to relieve the presssure on the damaged pin, remove the cartidge and replace after the pin is removed. You can also slightly tap to get the pin released from the jammed position.

What size staples do I need for the Rapid Isaberg 16 stapler [prob 40/50 years old but still works superbly]

The Rapid Isaberg 16 stapler uses 26/6 size staples. These staples are also commonly referred to as "standard staples" and are widely available at most office supply stores or online retailers. They measure approximately 6mm wide and 11mm in length, and are compatible with a wide range of staplers, including the Rapid Isaberg 16. Be sure to use high-quality staples to ensure that your stapler functions properly and staples securely.

Hitachi N5008AC2 air stapler only sets staple 1/8

Check for jammed staple, you have to remove the screws that retain the head of the stapler. If air is leaking then there is a bad seal at the trigger.

I can't seem to reload staples into this stapler. I used the staples that came with it and it worked fine. I try reloading and it doesn't staple.

With the stapler sitting a solid surface, turn it 180 degrees so it is pointed away from you, and you are looking at the back. Press down on the plastic extension that you see (about mid-height on the stapler). This releases the staple-holding compartment (it shoots out the front of the stapler). Reload it with standard staples, push the compartment back in place until you hear a click. Voila!

WHERE do I open it to refill it??

Located on the end opposite of where the staples come out, there is a spring loaded cap. Push it in toward the base of the stapler and slightly down to release the retaining hook. then let the spring release the pressure rod and pull it out. Connedted to the end of the rod you will see a plunger that is shaped like a short run of staples. Make a mental note of how and where this plunger slides into the base of the stapler. Place a run of staples into the stapler in the same manner that the plunger fits then replace the plunger into the same place following the run of staples. Compress the spring into the stapler and attach the hook as it was. Now you are ready to work.

NOTE: If you cannot compress the spring enough into the stapler you have inserted too many staples, just remove some of the run of staples and try again.

Stapler is not dispensing staples after new cartridge is inserted. Can you help?

Remove the staple cartridge, look into the cartrige area, are there any stray staples in this area, if so remove them, cycle the unit a couple of times without the cartrige in place, check the output end, any stray staples here? re assemble making sure you pull the first row ow staples even with the nozzle of the cartrige.

Hope this helps

Instructions on unjamming swingline electric stapler model 270; jam is at the front of the stapler; staplers come out either broken, flaten or crooked and does not secure document.

First, are you using the recommended staples for this stapler? Many heavy duty electric staplers don't use "standard" desk staples. Second, try unplugging the stapler, unloading the staples, and if possible, reach a couple of fingers into the stapler and try manually pushing up on the staple head to see if you can get the driver blade to come down. Does it come down smoothly, or does it seem like there is something stuck in there? If you aren't sure about disassembling the unit (my usual method-but I'd recommend having the parts diagram handy), try using a flashlight to look at the underside of the staple head, where the staples come out - can you see anything stuck in there? If so, you might be able to use a small knife blade or small dental pick to get jammed staple pieces out.
