DS Lite Powers up but will not turn on

My daughter's DS Lite that she got for Christmas will power up, but will not turn on. If someone knows how to fix this problem plese let me know. I do not want to purchase another one if the problem can be easily fixed.

By power up do you mean that the green light will turn on but the DS won't? If that's the problem, return the DS for a new one.

I have been repairing these systems for a while now. I'll tell you that I cannot guess and tell you what is wrong . I have to put it on my bench and test it out. would be happy to replace any parts that may be needed for you and get it going again.

Nintendo DS will NOT charge

My guess is that the problem resides in the charger. You can buy a dual use charger for the DS and DS Lite at GameStop for relatively cheap.

NINTENDO DS LITE POWERS ON AND THEN IMMEDIATELY OFF

The system powers on, then performs a system check. The DS is finding some sort of error More than likely the top screen was damaged. I've been told that the screen that flickers is usually the good screen. The bad one doesn't flicker because it's damaged. You can replace the top screen yorself (if you're fairly handy), or you can pay a professional to do it. You can get new screens from Dealextreme.com for around 10US dollars, with free shipping. You can also find videos about how to change out the top screen on youtube. Hope this helps
