Lenovo T410i connecting to Motorola S9 but not listing as playback device

My Lenovo T410i is successfully connecting to my Motorola S9 headset however it isn't being listed as a playback device in the sounds applet. I've ensured all Bluetooth drivers on the laptop are up to date and the services tab in the S9 properties shows everything enabled (Audio Sink, Handsfree Telephony, Headset, Remote Control & Remotely Controllable Device). I only want to listen to music :(

At no point has Windows asked me to enter the pairing code for the headset.. I know the headset works because I use it with my iPhone all the time.

I've had an e-mail asking me to add more details, I think my original description and comment are fairly comprehensive though, so can't think of anything I can add!

I have metro pcs phone service and a motorola s9 bluetooth headset i cant get the passcode.

Press and hold the power key (under the red cover) longer than the time required to turn it on, until its indicator light is alternately flashing in red and blue. It is in pairing mode (discoverable) now. Then, make your phone's bluetooth application search for new devices. After a little while, the S9 should appear on-screen. Select it and make it connect. If a pairing code (or PIN, or passkey) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). If the pairing process is successful, the S9 should enter the stand-by mode. There could be such an indicaton in your phone too.

Hope it works for you.

By the way, if your headset's user guide happens to be missing, feel free to download it from this location.

Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further.

Regards, Carlos

How do I connect my motorola bluetooh headset S9 to my LG Vu920?

When using your S9 for the first time, follow these
steps to pair (connect) to your Phone:
Important: If you are pairing separate Bluetooth
devices for handsfree calls and streaming music, it is
recommended that you pair your S9 with your
handsfree device (phone) first.
1 Ensure the Bluetooth feature is enabled (turned
on) in your phone.

2 Turn on your S9 by pressing and holding (|) button
until the indicator light flashes three times in
blue.
After a few moments, the indicator light will be
steadily lit in blue to indicate your S9 is in pairing
mode.
3 From your device, perform a Bluetooth device
discovery/search. .
When pairing your S9, use
the following steps to perform a device discovery
from your phone:
After accessing the Settings Menu, go to bluetooth.
to add a new device, tap [New].
1. Tap [New] key to search the device that can be connected and which is
within range.
The phone lists Bluetooth devices it
finds.
b Select Motorola S9.
c Select OK or Yes to pair your S9 with
your phone.
d Enter the passkey: 0000
e Select OK.

When your S9 successfully pairs and connects to
your device, the indicator light displays blue with
10 quick purple flashes. If wearing your S9, you
will also hear an audio tone indicating successful
pairing and connection to your device.
4 To verify your S9 has successfully established a
handsfree calling connection with your phone,
dial a phone number you want to call and press
the Send key on your phone.
When successfully connected, you hear ringing
on your S9. A Bluetooth Handsfree Phone (HFP)
connection is now established with your phone

Trying to connect motorola s9hd to the laptop

assuming you have bluetooth installed on your laptop,
1) you have to disable the bluetooth pairing of your s9 with another device that you may have paired with it earlier - like a mobile phone. disconnect previously paired devices first.
2) turn on the bluetooth feature on your pc and ask it to "search" for devices. assuming your s9 is on standby, your pc should be able to "locate" and pair with it assuming the s9 is within an arms length distance from the computer.
3) make sure that the s9 is completely charged to eliminate that power issues as well

Can't get my computer to discover my s9 headphones. There are no other BT devices connected. The blue light is on...

What bluetooth adapter are you using on your computer? Get the manual for the S9 from the Motorola web site: it will tell you that the blue light is related to mono voice/microphone, and flashing green is all about stereo musioc, no microphone.
So what are you trying to do with your S9?
On your computer it can be hands-free, or a stereo headset. It has two personalities, and you should see the two modes in your bluetooth configuration screen on the PC.
From what I see in the Motorola manual, if you click the right ear button for "Play/pause" it is supposed to kick the headset into A2DP stereo playback.

Will the Iogear GBMA211 Wireless Audio Transmitter (GBMA211) work with ANY bluetooth headset I have a Motorola S9???

No, it will not work with other headset like Motorola S9. The GBMA211 Audio transmitter is tested to work with the GBMH211 IOGEAR Bluetooth headset.

The GBMA211 was tried with the other Bluetooth headset but no success.
