I have a "malfunction 8" problem with my Jura Capresso machine. I didn't have my reading glasses on and accidentally put a decalcifying tablet in the ground coffee inlet instead of the cleaning tablet. The machine now shows the malfuntion 8 message. When looking into the ground coffee inlet, you can't see the decalcifying tablet. Can this be fixed easily or will I need a technician to disassemble the machine to take the tablet out ?

To fix this problem you need to clean the layers and layers of coffee mud off the plates that dispense the spent grounds into the hopper. My suggestion is to do this major muck cleaning before you even put the cleaning tablet in. Get a flashlight and pull the trays out and have a look at the mechanism that dumps into the hopper. You will see the layers of gunk that need to be scraped off. Easiest thing to get in there is a finger to start, then place it next to your sink and clean it with a water jet from your kitchen faucet, provided your faucet will allow you to do that. Let the runoff go into the sink of course. After you get it cleaned up, then put the machine through the cleaning cycle. If you can't get the problem solved, the fix is a flat $200 from Capresso.
