Question about Jura Capresso Impressa S8 Coffee Maker, Espresso Machine

Malfunction code 8 on Jura Impressa s8

Machine is almost 3 years old...put in cleaning tablet (cleaning prompt just came on)....after about 3 minutes into cycle, no water seemed to be going though the machine....is kept making noises like cycling when it turns on, but no water coming out of spout....then finally malfunction 8 lit up. Cannot open drawer either. please advise....machine has been great up to this point and I take care of it ++++ with filter changes and cleaning promptly.

    Exactly same problem! Machine is 3 years old, taken care off very well. Couldn't put the drawer back, turned on and off a few times, drawer went back, but still have Mulfunction 8 code and noise it makes is very starange, like something is trying to push something in and it doesn't work....(squeaky plastic sound?).

    HELP please!!!

To fix this problem you need to clean the layers and layers of coffee mud off the plates that dispense the spent grounds into the hopper. My suggestion is to do this major muck cleaning before you even put the cleaning tablet in.
Get a flashlight and pull the trays out and have a look at the mechanism that dumps into the hopper. You will see the layers of gunk that need to be scraped off. Easiest thing to get in there is a finger to start, then place it next to your sink and clean it with a water jet from your kitchen faucet, provided your faucet will allow you to do that. Let the runoff go into the sink of course. After you get it cleaned up, then put the machine through the cleaning cycle.
If you can't get the problem solved, the fix is a flat $200 from Capresso.

    I've had one of these for years but never thought to take the tray out and look carefully at the innards. And I'm a diy kind of guy! When I did after reading this suggestion, there was a lot of obvious gunk. Instead of using the spray attachment over the sink, I placed the unit on a deep baking tray to catch the water and used one of the common spray bottles set on jet spray. It did a fine job of removing what my finger could not. Great suggestion. Thanks.

    My machine has been acting up for a while and would not complete a cleaning cycle without a FAULT 8 message. However after taking this advice and holding the water jet inside the unit over my sink the machine prompted me through two cleaning cycles and now appears to be working properly. The problem is the plastic arm that scraps the grounds off a flat round metal piece above the grounds tray. Contact customer service and they'll tell you how to clean it. Call Jura Capresso customer service at 800 220-5701.

Have old kenmore elite he3 washer. Have wet laundry after spin out. Have checked ball be low drum, replaced strainer, pump motor, cleaned all hoses. Did a test run in the drain and spin cycle. For like 7...


If the washer is taking more water during spin, then most likely it is thinking the water level is low for the load. It is a smart washer and tries to adjust water according to load. This can mean the level sensor is giving wrong sensor. I would try to run the washer with a cleaning agent (not bleach) available from specialist stores or washing machine retailers.
Also observe if the drain pump is running all through the spin cycle. If not that is likely causing water to remain. But controller is thinking there is no water and not starting the pump when required.

Where do i put the cleaning tablet?


Cleaning tablet goes in the top of the machine in the opening just to the right of the bean hopper. Generally there is a little cover that you lift off and drop the tablet down the chute when prompted in the cleaning cycle.

Will not start descaling


1. Fill a 2 cup measuring cup with hot water.
2. Mix in descaler.
3. Pour in the empty water tank.
4. Put the yellow cleaning disk in the chamber and close chamber. Put the two cup measuring cup under the spout.
5. Push and hold the brew button for about 3 seconds (until the red and green light flash.
6. Now don't touch the machine. It will do it's thing for about 20 minutes. (Don't be impatient and start to push buttons, just leave it)
7. When it finishes it's cycle. The red light will turn off. Then clean the water tank and put fresh water and run clean water through the brewing cycle 4 times. Your machine is now ready for use.

Stuck in cleaning mode?


Open the preground coffee lid, drop a cleaning tablet in it, let it do it's tablet cleaning cycle. After cycle empty water out of tray and clean.

Dishwasher signals "clean" inside five minutes


I would check tosee if your water meaning hot water temp is hook up correctly. i have seen cold water going to machine and causing the machine to do funny things. 1 the unit drains.2. it fills.3.it washes if the water is cold there is your problem .make sure b4 you start machine the water going in is hot. let me know how you made out maybe we can further check. p.s im a old bosch tech:)

Shows "LE" in display.


Machine has a bad motor or "stator" on this machine. It is a direct drive winding on the back of the machine. Remove the back panel, the one bolt removes the rotor then you will see the stator winding, replace it and your good to go.

you didnt use the machine for a long time start the machine remove the water container if you have a turker blaster fill with water the hole were the water container goes put the blaster in it and apply pressure and try to ventilate and for descaling the machine use descaler not vinergar. vinegar remove calcium in little piece descaler melt it use 1 part descaling produit 1 part water put that in water container start machine open valve turn it off after a few second let it rest for 15 minute and repeat untill empty do 2 or 3 rinse cycle with clean water it important that stuff is corosif thanks for using fixya pierre

Kenmore Elite - Flooded bottom


this is a necht dishwasher under one year old the problem is as follows. machine switche on make the normal noises to start with after about two minutes it beeps for about twenty seconds machine then stops. The water does not seem to be coming into the machine but a small amount of water does come in at the botom of the machine ie. where the waste is. Please can you help.

Not completely brewing


OK, everyone, I cleaned my grind & brew, and the problem seems to have improved. This makes sense, because I didn't have any problems the first few years I had the machine - when I was using the little filters in it and cleaning it regularly. In the past couple of years I stopped using the filters and have not been good about cleaning it, then this trouble started.

To clean the machine, run 1/3 carafe white vinegar and 2/3 carafe water through machine. After the cycle finishes, run a full carafe of clear water through the machine. If this doesn't thoroughly solve the problem try cleaning it again a couple of days later.
