Transferring from C913 to computer via usb

I just received this camera and I am having issues in transferring to the EasyShare software. I am hooking up to the computer using the usb cable and nothing transfers and the manual doesn't say anything about what you should be doing, ie. hitting a certain button on the camera, etc. Any ideas on what I should be doing?

Took me a bit to figure this out too, but if you have the software installed, you need to hook up to the camera, make sure camera is off, then plug into the USB port, the click the on button on the camera. Your camera won't actually turn on, but it should start the transfer sequence automatically after that, good luck.

The pics that won't transfer may have the same numbers as pics already on your computer. If that's the case, you'll need to rename the ones on your computer.

Possible solutions:
Remember you need to turn the camera on when transferring.
Try a different USB outlet
Try a different cable
Try a different computer.

If all fails please contact KODAK in order to arrange a repair or order a new cable. Remember you cable is covered under the same warranty as the camera, so if covered you need the serial number of the unit:

My kodak easyshare c913 turns of when hooked up to usb

Try opening the Kodak software first, then turn the camera on. I've found that you need the Kodak program to transfer the pictures from the camera. I personally do not like this, my old camera (also Kodak) would act like a plane old flash card/removeable device, this new one doesn't.
Anyhow, I find it super easy to just take the SD card out and pop it into the media slot in my printer. Then just open explorer and it's there just like any other hard drive or CD/DVD drive and transfer them to where ever you like.
If your printer or computer doesn't have a slot for SD cards you can get one that plugs into a USB port, pretty cheaply at any store that sells computer products.

Pictures not transferred to the computer

The cause and solution may include one of the following: The AC adapter or USB cable is not securely connected. Check the connections, and then try transferring pictures again. Kodak EasyShare software is not installed. Install the software. There are too many programs running on the computer. Close all software programs and try transferring pictures again. The camera was removed from the dock during picture transfer. Replace the camera on the dock, and press the Transfer button. The Transfer button was not pressed. Press the Transfer button.
