Does the computer work when plugged into the power supply? If not the power supply may be the problem. If it does then I would suspect the battery has gone bad.

Have an Acer Aspire 5920G that is dead. The power supply seems OK with the green light on and ~19 VDC on the DVM when checked. no power light on computer when plugged in, with or without battery.

Hi,

It is possible that there is a problem with the connection from your power supply going to the main board of your laptop.
This is rather a technical problem and my best recommendation is to bring your laptop to a technician and have them check it.

Hope it helps!

Thanks!

Says plugged in not charging

Take out the battery and make sure you can turn on the laptop with just the AC Adaptor hooked up.

If you can then you know the AC Adaptor is good. Try another known good working battery in the laptop, if the battery charges then you know that the old battery is bad.

If the laptop doesn't charge with a know working battery or a new one then you know that the motherboard is bad.

Acer aspire laptop suddenly shut off and cannot turn back on

try it without the battery on the laptop. if it boots and stays on, put the battery back on and see what happens. If the problem persists, replace the battery. Acer will replace it free if you are still in warranty
