i have a fujifilm F810 and since loading SP3 i am unable to install the hardware.
it is recognized as a UASB mass storage device.
    Wizard runs,
i point it to the drivers
then it says cannot install hardware
SP3 does not seem to be loaded correctly though as updates wants to keep installing it.

You may have a defective USB cable. Try a different cable, or try plugging the cable into a different USB plug on your computer. If neither of these work, the camera may have a defective USB plug on the camera. Double check that the camera is turned on. If all else fails, you can copy the photo files by removing the memory card from the camera and putting it in a card reader built into your computer, your printer, or use a separate memory card reader. You can buy them at most camera and computer stores - they are inexpensive, usually less than $20.

Canon d20 download driver windows xp sp3

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

My computer now has windows vista, previously windows xp. Do I need to download a driver to be able to transfer pics from the camera to my computer? Thank you Bernie.

You do not need to install a driver on Vista. It will detect the camera automatically, but the camera will be detected as "USB Mass Storage Device".

No matter which computer I put my digital camera attachment to download pictures, it will not download pictures at all. It keeps telling me there is nothing attached (camera or scanner) to get pictures...

Since that you already used different computer still its not detecting the camera It means the problem is either On the USB cable itself or on the camera USB slot. Because windows XP vista or Windows 7 has a generic driver for all the camera it should detect all the camera thats been inserted on the CPU.

try to used different USB cable and make sure the USB cable is MODEL U-8 thats the right cable for your camera

No Software for Windows XP

Hi Katherine, unfortunately the bundled software is copyright and only updates can be downloaded from Canon. You could try contact your closest Canon Service Centre to order/purchase a replacement Solution Disk or they may even be kind enough to give you a copy should an extra one happen to be in their posession. The good news however, is that you should be able to download your images using Windows XP without the need to install anything. The bad news is that if you are getting the "device can work faster" message from Windows, it is highly likely your computers hardware may be a little outdated and incapable of connecting to the camera. I have seen this before and fixed it by installing a USB 2.0 card into the computer, not knowing much about your computer though I cannot gaurantee this is the solution. A sure way to get your images would be to purchase USB SD card reader. They are cheap to buy and will plug into almost any computer without hassle and allow you to access the images stored on your card. Best of luck!

Syncing camera to computer

What operating-system are you running?

On Windows XP and earlier versions of windows, there should be an icon on your desktop called "My Computer." Click on it once you've attached the camera. You'll at least see "Local Disk (C:), DVD/CD-RW drive (D:), Shared Documents, My Documents", and such. If your computer sees this USB camera, it should list it here. You can click on the camera's icon to view all your pictures.

On Windows Vista, getting to "My Computer" is a little bit trickier. I forget exaclty how, but it's not just set on the desktop like all previous Windows platforms.

Computer cannot detect camera at all!

This works for Windows98

1. Uninstall the Canon camera software.
2. Search for "Canon" in the registry. Delete ALL references associated with Canon camera in the registry. Just uninstalling the software will not work. Do not delete any other references to Canon products (printers, etc).
3. Re-install the Canon camera software.

I've had to do this several times. Works every time.
