I have a sony handycam dcr-hc19e. I am trying to transfer to my laptop which only has a usb connector and i have updated software still wont work - any ideas?

If you computer has Windows Vista or Windows 7 installed, then streaming over USB is not supported on those operating systems.
It is only supported on Windows XP.
At any rate, the quality of the video when streamed over USB is of considerably lower quality when compared to the video when transferred of IEEE 1394 connection.
If you don't have Windows XP, you'll have to find a computer with an IEEE 1394 connector and buy a Sony DV to IEEE 1394 cable. The DV port on the camera is right next to the USB port. Consult your local Sony retailer to find the proper cable for your camera.

Purchased a used C-3000 Zoom, 3.3 Megapixel Digital camera. Need software down load for my computer. My Windows XP program does not include this camera model.

The camera is a USB standard and serial connect camera and what we recommend for XP users as well as our new software is to look into purchasing a smartmedia card reader that connects to USB port so that you are able to transfer images using the reader as opposed to connecting camera to PC. The camera connection is not truly XP compliant.

To learn about the new and free version of Olympus Master 2 software go to: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/oima_softwareMaster.asp Click on 'Free Download' to register your email address to receive an email containing a link to download either the Windows or Mac version. This software replaces all previous versions of Camedia Master 4.x and Olympus Master 1.x and is XP and Vista compatible.

Normal 0 You need to go to the manufactures site and download the VISTA driver for the camera. Then follow the info below to install the program.

Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Camera not connecting to computer

You'll need to update the camera software for use with Vista. The Vaio isn't the problem. Thee updates for the F20 can be found here: FujiUSA

Question on software for camera that is adaptable with vista

There should be no difference in the performance on the camera and the opperating system you use. My suggestion would be to go on to casio's website and see if there are any software/firmware upgrades available for the EX-S600. To avoid this problem in the future you may want to bypass casio's software and just use the camera as a removable drive. To do this you would connect the camera as you normally do, press the usb button, and then in windows go to 'computer', formerly 'my computer' in xp, and under 'devices with removable storage' the camera should come up. just click and drag the images/folders you want onto your computer to transfer the images.
