to reset an ipod you flip the hold switch on the back off then hold the middle button and play/pause button at then same time until you see the apple logo. a reset is the only thing you can do besides letting the battery drain. (this happened to me also i suspected a certain song of causing it if it happens again try to recall the song playing) also i would clear the ipods music and re-sync it
Test the songs that are not playing on the iPod in iTunes and see if the original file is still playable on iTunes if the song still plays re-sync your iPod could be when iTunes copied the song it must have failed or timed out, if that fails re-syncing try restoring you iPod Nano i have had this problem before and I just re-synced and it worked fine!
hi if u have all 1800 songs in your computer folder,,,i advise you to connect the ipod to itunes and reset the ipod for factory settings ,then goto file add folders to library browse folders where all your songs located in your computer click ok
now it sud put all songs in music and then sync it to your ipod completely....if u dont see any !mark in itunes music folder then you are good ...your ipod sud have all 1800 songs.
try updating the firmware of the ipod to the latest.when the itunes releases new version,it comes with the upgrade firmware for the ipod.just connect the ipod to the pc and click update and sync.hope it helps
Go to http://www.findleydesigns.com/. They have an excellent utility
for under £15 for both Mac and Windows. It also means that you can add
anyones iPod music to your iTunes library. VERY easy to use.
You need to set your iPod to update manually, instead of syncing automatically when you plug it into the computer.
To do this, plug your iPod into your computer, and on the iPod info screen that pops up in iTunes when your iPod is connected, click "Manually Manage Files." You'll now have to click and drag your songs from your library to your iPod, but now you can also play songs on your computer directly from your iPod and delete songs from your library without deleting them from your iPod at the same time.
My classic won't sync at all. When I plug it into a USB port a screen comes up on my ipod saying "connected" then within seconds it's replaced by another screen that says "ejecting"
It works fine on my son's PC and my wifes Mac. Just not on mine. I have disabled the firewall. Tried all the various USB ports. I know cable is fine cause it works on other computers. I have latest in ITunes and have service pak 2 with XP. So needless to say I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this. HELP!!!!
