TV picture When TV button is pushed on, TV has no picture just black and white fuzzy screen with no sound. If I turn on VCR first and have TV on Channel 3, TV picture and sound will come on after a few minutes. Goes form black and white to horizontal lines and then picutre and sound will appear. Will work as long as VCR is on, can change channels through VCR. If I turn VCR off, TV will sometimes work on its own for a short while and then will go back to original state.

TV won't turn on and then does all by itself later. Then the screen goes fuzzy and sound/image is lost.

I agree with techman it is defective tuner... and remember tuner is too expensive.. At this point most likely you would be better off getting a new TV set. good luck

How do i set up my tv with my sony vcr

Hi Katie.. If you are using a coaxial cable to connect your TV and VCR, the TV needs to be tuned to channel 3 or 4. If you are using the Yellow, red and white cables, your TV should be on video mode to work.

The VCR is playing and functioning, but the picture won't show up on the TV. I have all the channels set and it should be working, but the TV is the black and white static. Could it need dusted? It hasn't...

make sure the tv vcr button on the vcr is selected to vcr and that you have the tv on channel 3 or 4. try pushing the tv vcr button a few times back and forth on channel 3 then on 4. if that doesnt work try hooking the vcr up to the tv with the rca jacks. they will be yellow, white and red or maybe only two from the vcr yellow and white. hook them up the the correct input on the tv and change the input on the tv. if that doesnt work, your vcr may be done.

You need a Digital to Analog converter box as your TV is analog, and all broadcasts, since Last June 12 are Digital.

VCR to TV setup needed

Doreen, it is a simple job. At the back of the VCR you will find two sockets mentioned Video Out and Audio Out. Put the yellow plug in Video Out of VCR and the other end of this cable will have another yellow plug, which you put in the Video IN (PUT) of the TV. Take the White plug of the cable and put it in AUDIO OUT of the VCR and put the other end in RED AUDIO IN(PUT) of the TV, (Older VCRs like yours did not have stereo sound capability, and so there is only ONE Audio OUT from the VCR. )
Now, put a tape in the VCR and hit PLAY. Switch onthe TV and select AV1 or AV2. You should be able to get Picture and sound.
