Go to www.searspartsdirect.com and enter the model number of your vacuum. Then you'll be able to find the specific belt which goes with your model. If it's the Model #21637020700, then the belt is part number 1CKD208000, and costs $3.29.

SOURCE: I need to replace the belt on my hoover fusion

Hello :
1:Unplug your Hoover vacuum. Turn the vacuum up-side-down and place the motor and vacuum portion on a counter top with the handle hanging down toward the floor. This makes it easy to work on the underside of the vacuum portion of the machine.
2:Locate the two plastic release levers near the front wheels of the vacuum. On most machines you will only need to push these levers outward with your thumbs to release the bottom panel of the vacuum. On certain older models, there are two screws that will need to be removed with a screwdriver. Once released, remove the bottom plate.
3:Locate the drive belt. Unless the belt is broken completely, it will be plainly visible. One end of the belt loops around the shaft of the vacuum's motor and the other end wraps around the vacuum's beater bar. The belt is in a modified figure 8. Use your fingers to stretch the belt slightly and remove it from the small shaft of the motor which will be almost dead center under the vacuum.
4:Remove the roller (the beater bar) that is across the front edge of the vacuum. In most models you can remove the bar by simply pushing it forward slightly and then lifting it up out of the U groove that it is held in. In some models you may need to use your screwdriver to push aside two clips that hold the bar in place.
5:Remove the belt (if attached) from the bar and then clean the bar. The bar may have hair and bits of carpet wrapped tightly around it, especially at the ends where the accumulated mess could prevent the bar from spinning freely. Use scissors or a utility knife to carefully clean off all hair and other debris. Make certain that the roller rolls smoothly and easily.
6:Place the new belt around the roller, fitting it into the groove in the middle of the bar. Replace the bar in the machine. In most models, the bar should simply drop down into the U grooves that hold it. Give the belt half a twist (like the figure 8) and then loop the free end around the shaft of the motor.
7:Replace the bottom of the vacuum and push the retaining tabs back in place with your thumbs or screw in the two screws that hold the bottom on. Turn the machine over, plug it in, and it should be working like new.
Things You'll Need: Replacement belt Screwdriver (for some models) Scissors Utility knife
Warning:
1:If your machine makes a screeching noise when you turn it on, then turn it off and unplug it immediately. Turn it over and check to see that the bar is seated properly before turning it back on again.
2:Never work on your vacuum if it is plugged in.

We just moved in - the house is about 9 years old. I have a Eureka Mega Boss central vac - looks like model # is CV20220. 12.4 amps, 120 volts. Can't figure out what type of bags I need. Can you...

Well, for this unit you will need any of the following bags,

Eureka genuine Part# 90610
Eureka replacement (Central vac bag)
another genuine bag style called CV-1, and/or CV-2
Kenmore Central vac bags

Most of the bags there are available at your local vacuum shop, and sometimes even Sears. The Kenmore central vac bag is, can and will fit your Eureka Mega Boss. Prices range on these bags anywhere from $12-$20 for packages of 3. Generally you will replace a bag once every 3-4 months.

Good luck,
Mark

Is there an easy way to see if a drive belt may be broken? It's so difficult to push my Kenmore upright vacuum!

Well there is only turning the vacuum over and see if the brush is rotating.

If it is not moving then you need to replace the belt.

If you need to know how to remove the bottom plate to replace the belt, please post the model number, the numbers you posted above are not the kenmore model numbers, the model numbers will look like this

We have a Kenmore Stylite Retrax vacuum cleaner, brand new. Suction is not working properly.

I actually pulled back my old vac after using this thing. Having said that I have played around with it and one quick cure is the remove or clean the little circle sponge filter at bottom. If you remove the canister and look at the bottom of vac you will see where the air travels down through a small circle. In there is a sponge filter that is probably clogged. Now Being frustrated, I just removed it and the vac sucks like crazy now. There are just way to many filters to worry about. As mentioned you need to clean the top main filiter, then the top sponge filter, and then dont froget there is alson one in the front of the machine (square paper filter) that catches dust leaving vac. These are on top of the little circle one that I removed, so I dont think it will be missed. Try and see what you think.

Brush is not rotating.

Turn the vac over, remove the access plate, covering the brush roll, 2 to 4 screws. Brush roll part number is 2032032if you need it, belt is a Bissell Style 7. While you have the brush roll off, check in dirt inlet to see if it is clogged, also check the hose to see if it is clogged. You won't feel suction at the bag tube, it has to have a bag on it and the lid closed before it will create suction.
