You must go to the support.microsoft.com and download the drivers according.

I tried searching for the Brookstone USB photo Scanner driver at support.microsoft.com. But none were found. Can you provide a link as to where you may have located the driver?

Thanks for your reply again. Unfortunately Brookstone's manuals link only provides a pdf download but not iConvert Photo Scanner (SKU 634394) drivers for Windows. Thanks again for trying.

Once again thanks for the link. I look through all 5 pages on the search link you provided. But none of them had drivers for my Brookstone.

I purchased this Iconvert scanner today, I have a Mac & don't seem to be able to get it to install. The disk that was included with it must be only for Windows because it is useless. I have called...

I only found a couple of iConvert scanners listed from Brookstone. One is a standalone photo/negative scanner that doesn't need a computer, so I assume it isn't your model. The other one claims it will work with Mac OS X 10.4 and up, but only on Macs with Intel processors. According to the manual, the CD contains the required software for the Mac, and it should run automatically. If it's not working with your Mac, you may have a PowerPC machine and you're probably out of luck. If this is what's happening, you should return the scanner for a refund and look for one that specifically lists compatibility with PPC Macs.

Looking for software to run my Brookstone iConvert photo scanner

I tried very unsuccessfully to use the software provided with my iconvert. My system even crashed a few times. The provided software, Photo Impression 6, may be good for other things but I was about to send the iconvert back when I decided to try the photo management software I use, Thumbsplus and voila, it works like a charm. You may not be able to do all the retouching and other stuff that the Photo Impression does but I just wanted to get them into my system, then I can do all that work with other software or even with the Photo Impression software.
If you want to get the slides converted and the provided software doesn't seem to work, just try some other photo software like thumbsplus. I have now converted several hundred slides with no problems.
