When I scan a document, I don't seem to have the option of saving it in PDF file format.

This maybe so, as PDF is a proprietary service, and the scanner doesn't support it? have you all the drivers and software installed? anyway, what you need to do, is scan whatever it is, in as a document or a picture whatever, and then process if with a PDF converter. Check out the master search link below and simply choose one download and install, then import the scan into the PDF converter and convert. There are also some programs that will scan PDF a Google search should turn them up?

My universal remote went out and somehow the tv-a Sansui-got switched from channel 3. How can I get it back to channel 3 so the converter will work? I tried changing channels manually at the tv but it...

Look in the owner's manual for instructions on having the TV scan channels. Make sure the converter is on before starting the scan. If that doesn't work, you'll have to buy or borrow a universal remote to take care of it (enter 3, 03 or 003 on the remote control). This will happen every time you remove power to the set, whether it is unplugged or you have a power failure, so start saving up for a new remote control.

When scanning a document, such document stays with the previous document scanned and wont save as a different file. How can I separate what I'm scanning from what I scanned previously on my computer? How...

If you had selected 'multipage' option, the scanner will convert all pages into a single page. Switch off (uncheck) multipage option and you will get individual page outputs. Check in the software if your clicked unnecessary button for saving in the last file. Try 'Default' button if available and try again.

EpsonCX3900 NOT SCANNING TEXT AND SAVING AS TEXT IN Vista

Hi,

There is absolutely nothing wrong with either your system or the scanner device, its just quite normal the scanned document are often saved in PDF or a image file formats, All you need is a text converter software (OCR) through which you can convert the scanned image or PDF file to text document and the best part is that you can even edit the text of the scanned document and make changes if you would like to as well. Here is the link for the text converter software download.

http://www.charactell.com/scanstore/InstSocr.exe

Click on the link to download and install the software that you require.
Alternatively you can also copy and paste the link in your web b browser address bar and hit the enter key to start downloading wizard.

Setting the format of the picture i scan

Ok I am not sure why ya scanner won't save in JPEG .. however converting the files to JPEG is relitively "Simple". After saving the Scanned picture.. Open it up in say MS Paint, Painshop etc, then simply choose "Save As.." from the File Menu, and save it as a NEW image file this time with a JPEG extension. IE: origional... picture.png or picture.bmp ... save as ...picture.jpg .. ya should be good to go. :)
