D3V3 Trouble code on Phillips plasma

I have a 50" phillips plasma tv that will sound like it's powering up like it used to, but then shut back off. The red light fpashes on the front of the tv. I opened up the back of it and the Alarm signal board flashes the code for D3V3. I cannot find any information on this code nor what to look at or replace. Any help would be great. WHAT THA HELL IS THE D3V3 THE ONLY INFO I FOUND IS THAT IT IS A LOW VOLTAGE SOMETHING BUT DOES THAT MEAN I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE POWER SUPLY OR WHAT ANY INFO WOULD HELP THANKS

I had the Same issue. on a 50PF9431D/37 set. Many Plasma Set's use a LJ44-00118A PS-505-PH Power supply from Samsung. Known to have this common problem. If you can, or have a friend that can Solder components?. Unplug your set remove the back panel & locate your power supply. It will be the PCB in the center of the set just above the Video/Audio connections. http://www.shopjimmy.com/power-supply-unit-lj44-00118a-from-philips-50mf231d-40.htm. Is a Link to a photo of the PCB. Make a note of the locations of all cable connections then unplug them all. Un-install PCB, Check all Fuse first. I believe their is 5 or 6 of them on the PCB. Then replace the two 3300uf 10v 105C Radial capacitors at C8060 & C8059. Look to see if the Caps are deformed and or split at the top. The location of the caps are in the Lower bottom edge of the PCB. A local shop may Carrie them if not, digi-key has them. Part # http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=493-1754-ND. Total cost was $7 with S/H.

Look on the power board for small capacitors with the tops bulged up. 3300uf 10v is the most common failure.

After finding this solution, I call a local TV repair shop to see if they carry 3300UF capacitor and to my luck they had them in stock. I took the Power Supply board off the plasma and took it to the shop. The repair guy took the old capacitor off the board and solder the new ones on the board. The shop charge me $35 for parts/labor and now my TV is working like new. Save me tons of stress and $$$$ from having to buy a new TV. Thanks for this great solution!

I have a 50" Phillips

Sounds like there is a couple bad caps in the power supply. Check the power supply to see if there is any bubbled caps. Replace with a higher voltage if necessary.

Our 52 inch Phillips Plasma tv is not working

open the back of the set and inspect the power supply board -- there should be two fuses on the board- they cost around 2 dollars at radio shack -- check all connections for wear or damage -- there are two boards in most televisions -- a power supply board and a audio / digital board -- one is probably board

Phillips 427220a

After you remove the back cover inspect the power supply board for swollen or bulging capacitors. Pull and check any capacitors that you suspect to be swollen. Next, look for a sticker in the upper right hand side of the TV set. Use the values you find on the sticker to calibrate the voltages on the power supply board.

My 42 inch plasma wont turn back on after power cut?

Hi,
We purchased a phillips plasma 50" in july 06 and it cut on and off 5 or more times a day I called phillips customer service they told us it was due to the cable company they came out and changed the tv jack gave us a new box and tested the lines said everything was ok. The problem still kept happening got back to phillips and they sent us a flash drive to update the info in the tv. still kept happening told us it was due to tv being sensitive to power flutuations. well we are now 5mths out of warrenty and the power board blows up! phillips will not do anything to help the person I spoke with admitted we were given bad advice the bill was estimated at over $500 so if I were you if its still under warrenty make them send someone out to look at it, Reading up on phillips tv complaints this seems to be a common thing By the way phillips customer service sucks dont rely on them to help you much. good luck
