When I turned on my tv it went from a good picture to a blurred picture, and now when I turn it on its dark and blurred. It has good sound it has a terrible picture. I took the XBOX off of it because I thought that that might be the problem, Please Help.
The most common reason I've found for picture deterioration with projection TVs is dust build-up on the mirror. Try popping off the trim around the screen and look of several screw and retaining clips and remove them. Now remove the screen - it's just a piece of plastic. Now the mirror should be in plain view. Simply clean it thoroughly with windex and newspaper (you can also clean the back of the projection screen since you have it out). Now replace the screen and see if the picture doesn't look much brighter and clearer. This should be done perhaps every six months as TV generate a lot of static which attracts dust like a magnet. If the picture is blurry after doing this, it's possible to adjust the projector beams (there are three) to better align with the position of the screen, however I'm willing to bet this won't be necessary after the cleaning procedure. It sounds complicated, but trust me, anyone can do this. If you cannot locate any retaining clips on the front, you may have to go in from the back, in which case you'll most likely have to complete remove the mirror to clean it. It's a little more involved than the frontal method, but equally effective. It's also possible that you have a bad projector. When you get the screen off, make sure that each one is lit (the red one always looks dimmer than the green/blue ones). If one is out, try tapping on it, it might just come back to life, you never know. If not, have it replaced (usually around a $200 fix). Hope this helps you, and good luck!
