Dark picture I was wondering if a dark picture is caused by a weakening projection lamp. If so, is it possible to relamp the projector and if anyone has an idea of the cost.

It is possible but there are other possiblities as well. Replaced the picture tubes would cost in excess of $1000.

Dark pictures after a lamp change normally indicate that the lamp isn't aligned properly, or that it has been touched with bare fingers and caused a black mark, or it's an inferior (budget) lamp.

it is possible but more likely the lamp===remove lamp and examine it.

The glass pillar in the middle may be bent or warped and if so replace lamp if you have not tried that.

Our projector (Panasonic PT AE900U) is still working but the picture seems very dark all of a sudden. we are wondering if this means we need to replace the bulb and if so, what do we replace it with.

My sony kdf-e42a10 lcd projection tv has good sound but for some reason the picture has gotten real dark, you can still see it barely, what could be causing this

Cause of darker picture is lamp that has reached at end of its working life span and need to be replaced for brighter picture in tv.
Replace lamp in tv to get problem solved.

Check in your manual to is if it take a projector lamp? If the lamp is going bad the picture will start to get dark. Hope this is helpful.
