Dont know if its the same model as mine but mine has a small sliding focus switch underneath the view finder if you tilt the viewfinder up you may find it it may look like the clip that locks the viewer down but it slides side to side .regards norman

Hi
I have got an S5000 that I can still view previously taken pictures from the card, but when trying to take pictures the screen and view finder shows a peculiar distorted purple and green picture and any picture taken is just a green blur.
I contacted Fuji and they say they can repair it for £90 (about $120)

Picture in View Finder perfectly clear, but out of focus

I would check IS(image stablization) setting and continous shooting setting to make sure these features are turned off. You want to experiment with different IS settings and definitely turn the continous shooting mode because the continouse mode may not focus 100% in order to shoot multiple shots. Hope this helps. -James. P.S. In my case it was too difficult to distinguish the quality of focus in the VF or LCD so you may not see the focus issue on them.

View finder not working

I went to the Kodak Easy share support web page and set up to send it in for repairs. It's going to cost $145.00 to get it fixed. It's a great camera and even though I could buy a new camera for what it would cost to fix it, it wouldn't be as great a camera. So it's worth fixing it.

Sound but no picture.

if you are able to playback previously recorded cassette and the picture is perfect then its not the head. then the problem is with the image grabbing section i.e. the CCD. May be its damaged and needs replacement.

LCD Screen does not work properly

Your camera works just like a film camera SLR,. You use the eyepiece to frame and focus your picture. The LCD screen is for reviewing pictures taken or menu operations. You cannot preview a shot on screen before it is taken with the camera.

Canon Powershot A75 blurred LCD display

It sounds like the focus element in your lens is not functioning properly. Does the lens retract completely when you turn off the camera? When you push the button does the camera attempt to focus the image? If you do not see any change in the image when you push the button, and do not hear any sound - then your focus motor is either jammed or malfunctioning. David Millier Advance Camera Repair

Blurred image

The viewfinder image should look sharp & clear, as long as the camera is turned ON. If the camera is OFF, the viewfinder image will blur. At least this is how it works on my C2000z. If your viewfinder is always blurry, I would return the camera for exchange.

All action shots with S5000 are a complete blur...

I have the S5000 and have found that the shutter lag does present some problem with action shots. You do have to focus on the subject, & then hit the shutter just as it comes into the frame. As to the blur, have you tried shutter priority? I recently took a picture of my cousin's daughter jumping over a dog, & got the action perfectly. (I will be posting it in my gallery shortly - I don't remember offhand what the shutter speed was). Set the shutter speed to at least 1/500, or even faster depending on the subject.
