What do L.EMG and R.EMG mean and why do they prevent me from any activity with my camera?
Every time i try to record or watch any footage on my camera it will be ok for like 4 seconds then it alternates back and forth between R.EMG and eject. WHY is this happening to my camera and what does it mean?

The errors you are getting are "reel" errors. One or both of the tape reels are not turning during tape movement and the camera is shutting down to protect itself and your tape. In this model this problem is usually caused by the take up reel shaft being bent due to improper insertion of the cassette although this may not be the case. Please inspect both the takeup and supply tape reels and insure they are in correct alignment, if not, a gentle push to one side or the other will place them back in operating position. Good luck to you.

the A-Hd is the only Hi def camcorder of Aiptek to record into the camera the Av input iti s called. the A-hd has a lower gain of the mic meaning all video recording of the actual live footage will be low on older models possably normal on the newer today
the Go-hd does not record any footage into thecamera no AV input it will have a higher gain meaning the sound going into the camera will be too loud there is no medium level
If you mean capture webcam footage when you mean download, you can use various programs to record from your webcam. If you want to upload to Youtube, they have a great built-in program to record your webcam footage and upload it from their site. If you wish to just record it for your viewing, a quick search for webcam recorders online will get you plenty of results. One program to try can be this.
You can only view hd footage on hd devices. so if you recorded hd footage onto a tape, you will not be able to view it on a standard def camera, ie the dvx100b. The footage should not be harmed. Now if you are trying to view via p2 card over the firewire, whole new scenario.
The gray strips usually mean the camera has dirt video heads - if it hasn't been dropped. Get a head-cleaning tape from Radio Shack or Best Buy, and run it a few times. If that doesn't do it, it'll have to be cleaned by a repair shop. Off brand tapes sometimes can cause this.
if it is only recording bright light sources then it must be working fine outdoors in broad day light. if so, it means the auto iris of your camera has stucked to minimum opening. was the camera lying idle for long time. try pointing the camera towards low light and bright light with quick moves.some times by doing so it gives a little jerk to the mechanism and it starts working, or lightly patting the camera on the lense side may solve the problem. otherwise let the repaires earn some money.
