Make sure you've got everything plugged in to the mother board, especially the cpu fan attached to the heat sink. it's possible it could also be a memory issue, pop out your memory modules and reseat them.

SOURCE: HP Compaq D530 sff Will not power up

I have the same problem but it seems to be related to the NIC. When I start without the ethernet cable plugged in it's fine, plug in the ethernet cable and the machine stops dead. I can't even start the PC with the cable plugged in.

There should be a little pinhole located under the door on the bottom of the tray. Push a paperclip in the hole to get the tray open. After the tray opens, close it and see if you can open it normally, if not it's broken and needs replacing.

My Packard Bell x2415 does not boot up, it switches on, but there are no bleeps and the monitor does not activate, although all wires are plugged in. Thank you for any advice.

Severe hardware failure. Disconnect all the disks and try to start it like that. If it fails even now then the motherboard or the PSU have failed and they will have to be replaced. Swap the PSU with a good one - if it starts it's the PSU, if not it's the motherboard: junk and replace the faulty one .

My Packard Bell ixtreme m3720, motherboard Packard Bell MCP73PVT-PM, when first turned on starts OK but after about 15 minutes the power automatically shuts off. can you identify any fault from this...

I had the same issue with this motherboard and afterchecking all of the obvious stuff, PSU, RAM etc it pointed to what I suspectedfrom the start - The Nvidia onboard GPU.
This is the same type of graphics BGA (Ball Grid Array) chip that is constantlyfailing in laptops and I have seen it fail on an ASUS PC motherboard and nowthis Packard Bell / NEC MCP73PVT-PMmotherboard too.
You can repair the laptop motherboards (albeit mostly only for a limited timebefore it fails again) by reflowing the chipset with a heat gun (£10 - £20) availablefrom most hardware stores like B&Qsparkyuiop_0.jpg.
There is plenty of info to be found via Google and YouTube by searching thewords "Reflow Nvidia GPU". It is important though that you remove theheat sink (see picture) and cover the board in tin foil, exposing only the Nvidiachip for heating.
It is also a good idea to get some liquid flux first and dribble it under theNvidia before you heat it. The most important thing to remember is once it ishot, DO NOT PUSH DOWN ON THE CHIP!! LOL! That will be Game Over....
You may also find it a good idea to heat the entire board on a concrete flatsurface once you have reflowed the GPU so that it retains its original shapeafter being pulled about by the CPU heat sink. Heat the whole board only somuch that you can still touch it with your fingers and stay away from theplastic PCI slots as much as possible.
It sounds like a right mission but it is actually pretty straight forward andcan be done in under 30 minutes. Give it a go, if you toast your board at leastyou can be safe in the knowledge there was no other cost effective way torepair it.
Just to add, mine has been on for 3 hours now and it is still running sweet. Iam using a PCIe plug in graphics card though in the theory it will take theload off the Nvidia chipset.
Good Luck!

Please rate this if it helped. Thank you.

My imedia b2217 will not boot. Is the motherboard dead? Whenever I switch on the computer nothing happens. No lights, no fans, nothing at all. I have replaced the power supply but still nothing

Hi i'm Basti,

How bout the fan for your power supply, is it running? Try to retrace the cables to motherboard and make sure its tight. Change or use another power supply if possible.

Keep me posted. Hope this helps.
