Hi, I have the same issue. I took the ethernet cable out, still happens. Both the power light and hard drive light blink red. Could it be a bad power switch or battery? Thank you, Sam: [email protected]

I have the same problem in 2 separate D530s.  I updated the BIOS in both and ONE of the D530s now works fine, but one still won't fire up with the ethernet cable plugged in.  I have matched both BIOS' so I have no idea why one still does not fire up with the ethernet cable plugged in.  If I wait for about 5 minutes AFTER WinXP fires up, I can plug in the ethernet cable and all is well.  Any time before 5 minutes and it dies.
I doubt it is a motherboard or power supply issue.

I have the same problem but it seems to be related to the NIC. When I start without the ethernet cable plugged in it's fine, plug in the ethernet cable and the machine stops dead. I can't even start the PC with the cable plugged in.

Packard bell b2217 wont switch on.fans come on when start pressed .after a couple of seconds they go off and thats it

make sure you've got everything plugged in to the mother board, especially the cpu fan attached to the heat sink. it's possible it could also be a memory issue, pop out your memory modules and reseat them.

First remove the power plug from the smps and press the power switch few time and wait for few minutes the re plug the power connector to the smps and switch on the computer if you still dont have power then you will have to check whether the smps work to test that its not enough to test the voltage in the 21/24 pin you will have to short the green wire and the black wire and see whether the smps fan is working if the fan is not working then the problem is with smps

Dear sir, my desktop is hp compaq dc7600 sff. everytime when it starting to boot the following info is appears: "512- chassis fan is not found. press f1". after pressing f1 it's starting to...

The sytem checks for the Chasis fan during the bootup (startup) process. The fan is connected to the motherboard via cable. Turn off the system. Open it and make sure the the cable is connected properly. While the PC is open, press the power button and check if the fan turns on. If not the chasis fan may have gone faulty, which needs replacement. If you find it faulty, you may find and replace the fan by removing the old/ faulty fan by removing the 4 screws and installing the new one.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Hp disktop erreur 920-fan command 2 pin connector

The CPU Fan is not working. Contact Compaq or go on Ebay and see if you can find a replacement fan. If you continue using your PC without the CPU fan operating, you will burn out the CPU. I hope this helps. Good luck and have a pleasent day.

In asus P5VDCMX motherboard power led and ide led doesnot glow but pressing power switch cpu fan runmonitor screen blank.

Ok,here's a basic troubleshooting list. First,if it has an onboard video port, switch to it or to an agp card, whichever isn't the current hook up. Try a different monitor too when doing this. This is to see if it's a video issue. Next, take one ram stick out at a time & keep trying to boot, if it eventually does, the stick you just removed is bad. If you spliced any fans or lights in, make sure they aren't grounding on the case. If you just put this board in,the case is probably grounding the board.Remove the board & make sure the standoffs are in the right spots(lined up with the holes on the board),adjust as neccesary & then re-install,try again. Being that there's no lights, I think that grounding scenario is going to be the issue. Lastly, try a different power supply,if that doesn't work the board is bad, hopefully the cpu survived.
