Monitor problem I have a Likom HD19A monitor. Its about 1 1/2 years old. I usually leave my computer and monitor powered on all the time. The monitor started failing to come on when I would press a key on my keyboard. If I turned the monitor off then back on and it would come on and work just fine until the computer went to standby, then I would have to turn monitor off and on again to get it to come on. Note: green led woud always be ON. Recently when I would turn it off and turn it back on it started showing a blank, "cream" colored screen. Then maybe it will work and maybe not. Could this be a "back-light inverter board problem, or something else that is repairable? Or, has the monitor finally gone bad? I have a second identical monitor and it works fine, so it is not problem within the computer itself. Thanks.

when machine is rebooted, the monitor has to be unplugged and then replugged before it will come on. i must have to press down on power to keep led light on while machine is rebooting.

I have had similar problems. It would appear that the power supply is at fault, not the monitor.

Pink and Green Horizontal lines across screen

Normally, horizontal lines on an LCD or LED monitor indicate a bad control board inside the monitor. However, occasionally the problem can be caused by loose or bad cable connections. The only things that you can really do is to disconnect both ends of the monitor cable and reconnect them firmly. Also, you can disconnect the monitor cable completely and just leave the power cable. With only the power cable attached, you can turn the monitor on and off. The monitor should have a "startup screen" or display a message that says something like "Video Cable Disconnected". If the green and pink lines are still present without your computer connected, then the monitor has gone bad. The good news is that Samsung SyncMaster monitors usually carry a 3 year warranty, whereas most monitors only have a 1 year warranty. You may be able to have the monitor replaced at no cost to you if it's less than 3 years old.

My gateway 24-inch lcd monitor will not power on, have unplugged, switched connections, power plugs etc. and it will not power on. computer powers up just fine, but nothing with the monitor. its approx. 3...

The monitor power supply has probably failed. Replace it or replace the monitor (3 years is the longest warranty on most monitors). One way to check this is to put a different monitor on the computer and make sure that the video signal is available.

I wish that I could be of more help.

Power plug

Most LCD monitors use IEC sockets - these are 3pins sockets.
Power leads are available from computer shops and electrical stores.

If your copy of Windows has not been activated, follow the on-screen instructions to activate it. If you cannot activate it online, you need to contact Microsoft to manually activate it.

Vusys hd19a monitor is always on standby

Cut and paste from another site:

I was called to repair similar incident last week. A Compaq box (don't remember the model) with a 'smart' usb keyboard. By this I mean that the keyboard had a row of what I'll call hot buttons. The client had pushed a button with a moon on it causing the monitor to go into sleep mode. I suspect that whatever key you pushed had the same effect.
After plugging a known good monitor into the faulty box I verified that the box was OK. This left me to think the monitor itself had a problem. Plugged the suspect monitor into a known good machine.. and it worked fine!!!
Set machine and monitor to original configuration and still had no video. Decided that the monitor was too smart for its own good and maybe there was something in the monitors menu. Pushed and held the 'menu' button on the monitor for a few seconds and menu comes forward. Green power led also comes on (surprising me) so I powered up the computer and lo and behold the problem is fixed!

HD19A / 19-Inch light flickers but no display

One of 2 possibilities come to mind.

1,  The vga chord is loose on the back of the monitor.

2, Your resolution is set too high or low to be displayed.

The blinking light means that the monitor is either not getting or understanding a signal.

Hope this helps.

Just check that your monitor is not set to power down(Control Panel> Power Options) and check that the 'Turn Monitor Off' Power Scheme is set to never and turn off any screensaver to see if it still goes off.
