It is a common fault that the drain fails to work in most machines in a period of time and is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged. Now remove the drain hose clamps and remove the drain pump/valve, clean the drain pump/valve, use back flushing to clear off all dirt. Now test using power to see if this works and can be simulated. When refitting, the hose must be tightened properly. If the pump/valve does not work even with power then it must be replaced. If there is intermittent power to the drain valve/pump then the program controller unit is a suspect.

Finally the washer must be placed with a tilt- use a spirit level- so that all water will drain to the outlet port and thereby there is no residual water remaining.

My dishwsaher wont drain water

Two things to consider....clean water or dirty water?

Clean water usually indicates the fill valve is not shutting off all the way and the fill valve is "weeping" water in all the time = new fill valve time!!

Dirty water usually is not a dishwasher problem but more of a plumbing issue. Often the sink drain that carries the sinks water outside is not fast enough and some of this sink water is backing up into the drain hose and filling up the dishwasher through the drain hose. The drain from the sink to outside needs attention as this type of a problem indicates a slow house drain for that sink.

The dishwasher drain line should be clamped to the top underneath part of the counter before entering the sink drain plumbing, this may help the water from coming back inside the dishwasher.

Code f 20 what does that mean

First, make sure that both hot and cold water valves are turned on.

The F20 error code is indicating that the water level switch is not detecting a change in the water level while filling. You mentioned that you raised the drain hose so that it's only 3-4 down inside the drain pipe. If the stand pipe is too low it still could siphon out. Watch the end of the drain hose while it's filling with water to see if water is gravity draining out while it is filling.

If the washer is filling with water and you see no water draining out the hose while it's filling most likely it would be a stuck water level pressure switch or the water flow meter.

Washer will not fill up!

The water is siphoning out as it fills. Your drain hose is too low or has a air block. Remove the drain hose from the drain. Set the washer to fill. Hold the drain hose up higher than the washer. If it fills correctly and starts agitating, correct the drain hose problem.

Will not fill with water goes right down the drain, works sometimes

Your drain line is too low or there is a air gap blockage.
Remove the drain line from the drain and hold it up high while filling with water and see if it fills and stops.
If so, correct the drain line problem. The drain hose should be 36 inches from the floor.

Whirlpool washer fills, begins to agitate, then drains

Water siphoning out the drain line
If the water is continues to fill and water is draining while it is filling or agitating, Check the height of the stand pipe. It should be about 36" above the floor. If the height is correct it may need to have an anti-siphoning valve installed into the drain line.
moz-screenshot.jpgThe washer fills and drains at the same time only on the rinse cycle.
Shut the machine off with timer during this period and raise the drain hose. If the water continues to drain, you will need to install an anti-siphon kit.
