Can't get anything on the screen

I was watchin TV and started to change over to watching a DVD when I lost everything on the screen. I disconnected everything and rehooked it all up again... still no picture... could the bulb be gone... if so wouldn't I still get a signal and sound... I get nothing... I hear it click on and see the green light on the front, but not picture and no sound. Did the bulb go? Gene Summers

Unplug the power cord from the TV set and leave it unplugged for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back into the TV and turn it on. It should work. This is not an uncommon problem for the Akai line.

(DESKTOP) My 42" lcd tv acts as both my monitor for my desktop and my cable tv. Everything is connected via hdmi except for my soundbar. After 5-10 of no use with my pc the tv goes snowy or shows n

if you have cable-TV then you have a Set-top-box and there should be a separate HDMI cable from that cable box to the TV, as well as an HDMI-cable from the PC to the TV.

This means that when you want to use as a monitor, the TV Input would have to be changed to PC, and when you watch TV, you need to change the Input back to Cable. It sounds like you are watching TV through the PC.

I looked through the manual and didn't see anything either. I assume that you are hitting the TV/DVD button and setting it to DVD when you want to use the DVD. Does the remote do anything besides turn the TV on (change channels, etc.)? Hope this helps and good luck!

I have picture and sound when I watch a dvd/video but not through cable.

Try turning off the dvd/vcr and put your tv on the output channel of your DirectTv receiver. If this doesn't work it may not be hooked up correctly.
