ARCHOS 604 WIFI PROBLEM AFTER FIRMWARE UPDATE

MY ARCHOS 604 WIFI WORKED JUST FINE UNTIL I DID THE LATEST FIRM WARE UPDATE (1.6.53). NOW WHEN I TRY TO SWAP FILES TO MY PC IT REBOOTS THE ARCHOS AND GOES INTO JUST CHARGING MODE, OR IT COMPLETLEY FREEZES AND I HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO REBOOT THE ARCHOS, OR IT WILL START TO TRANSFER THE FILE THEN STOP AND SAY IT CANNOT COPY THE FILE.
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A FIRMWARE PROBLEM OR MAY I HAVE A BUG ON MY ARCHOS HARD DRIVE, ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

If you wouldnt mind losing data then i suppose you could format it and get rid of the firmware update and the put all your stuff back on. only a suggestion.

Have you updated your firmware on your Archos 101? If you can get to a public wifi hotspot like at a McDonalds or Starbucks you should be able to download the latest firmware (you can force the tablet to check for it by going to Settings - About Device - Firmware Update).
The latest firmware included several fixes for WiFi issues that previous firmware versions struggled with.
I would try that, attempt to connect again at home, and if it's still not working switch your troubleshooting focus to the router itself.

This is a recovery mode, and this menu allows you to:

-Format your hard drive
-Restore your system

In case of repair disk is selected :

For the first step you have to go on our website, and download the latest firmware update for your product.

Plug your Archos 504/604 on the computer and copy the firmware previously downloaded at the root of your device.

Disconnect your device as usual, and select done on the screen.

Archos 604 wifi corrupted

Did you try ?

- Using the reset button located under the battery?

- Holding down the LCD button as you press POWER to start up the unit and trying one of the recovery options?
