When you look at pictures or take them with the camera the screen shows up fuzzy and the colors are distorted looking. When you develop them they are fine??

are these red fuzzy colors actually on photos or just on lcd i think u r gettin them on photos also if thats the case ur CCD is gettin faulty u cant help it changing the CCD is not recommended bcoz it will cost u like new camera u can buy a new one i think
See this link. This Canon service notice is effective world wide, and if Canon determines that your problem is due to a CCD image sensor failure (yours are the classic symptoms), they will repair your camera at no cost, regardless of warranty status.
If it is not a setting problems, and if the black and white is only on
LCD and not on picture, then it is a problem with the LCD. Probably
just the ribbon cable not well inserted into the connector.
Camera must be taken apart to fix this problem. Better to have the job done by a technician at a camera repair shop.
Do you have a led or crt display? It could be just your display settings. Go to control panel /display properties /setting tab / and try changing the screen resolution. If no difference try the color quality. You can change the color bits without hurting any thing. Just remember what you changed it from and to.
If this doesn't help maybe you'll need a new screen.
Better yet, go to Sony's website and describe the problem your experiencing. Have heard that they have sometimes offered to repair it for free as the problem is so widespread (Note that it's not on any recall list though):
