Printer status window interface stopped working dell AIO 926
I know this sounds too simple, but get a new USB cord. I had the exact same problem and it was driving me crazy. I followed all the advice about uninstalling, reinstalling and updating multiple times and it never fixed the problem. Finally, my husband made the simple suggestion that maybe it was a problem with the connectivity of the USB cord. I didn't have much faith in it, but I bought a new USB cord and hooked it up - and I have never had a problem with the printer since then. My original USB cord (the one replaced) was the one that came with the Dell printer - perhaps there is a flaw in the cord somewhere. ?
I have the same problem with my Dell 968 All in One printer. Spent 2 hours on the phone with Dell today and they told my I needed to reinstall my operating system. I could print fine until I installed this printer. I got a new printer because the other one kept jamming when feeding the paper. Does not make sense that my operating system would go to heck when I install a new printer. HELP!!!! Can't handle another phone call to DELL!!!
Do you have the phone line connected in the correct port. by default there is a blue tab that covers the phone port (this is used if u need to share the phone line with an answering machine , etc.
If you are using DSL broadband service. make sure the phone line that you connect to the printer has a DSL filter attached to it (you may contact your internet service provider for more info on that).
