926 printer I can't my 926 printer to fax. It works once or twice then doesn't work. I uninstall and reinstall the printer and it works maybe once.

    I have the same problem with my Dell 968 All in One printer. Spent 2 hours on the phone with Dell today and they told my I needed to reinstall my operating system. I could print fine until I installed this printer. I got a new printer because the other one kept jamming when feeding the paper. Does not make sense that my operating system would go to heck when I install a new printer. HELP!!!! Can't handle another phone call to DELL!!!

    Do you have the phone line connected in the correct port. by default there is a blue tab that covers the phone port (this is used if u need to share the phone line with an answering machine , etc.

    If you are using DSL broadband service. make sure the phone line that you connect to the printer has a DSL filter attached to it (you may contact your internet service provider for more info on that).

    could you give some more details?

Need to clear everything out of the printer queue then uninstall &reinstall the printer & driver

Open Printers and Faxes. Open printer. Highlight jobs and Right click > Cancel, or Documents > Cancel.


For those stubborn jobs, Right click My Computer > Manage. Choose Services and Applications > Services > Print Spooler. Right click and stop. Then start.

Delete the printer from Printer and Faxes to uninstall. You should check Add remove programs for any printer software.

Windows will install automatically with a refresh or reboot. Or, use software that included with printer.

Maybe it has not ink for the color you want to print or the printhead is clogged. In this last, you should change the printhead.

Printer status window interface stopped working dell AIO 926

I know this sounds too simple, but get a new USB cord. I had the exact same problem and it was driving me crazy. I followed all the advice about uninstalling, reinstalling and updating multiple times and it never fixed the problem. Finally, my husband made the simple suggestion that maybe it was a problem with the connectivity of the USB cord. I didn't have much faith in it, but I bought a new USB cord and hooked it up - and I have never had a problem with the printer since then. My original USB cord (the one replaced) was the one that came with the Dell printer - perhaps there is a flaw in the cord somewhere. ?

I can print from my Dell 926 all in one, but it wont scan

Try removing your 926 icon in Printers and Faxes, disconnect the USB cable, restart your computer, reconnect the USB cable, see the 926 and install the driver again. If scan has never worked, you probably need a different driver.

Hi

whenever you put new ink cartridges,your printer prints an alignment sheet
if your printer isn't printing,
one of the concern could be that it didn't print the alignment,uninstall the cartridges and put them back again.

also try printing an alignment sheet using the printer driver located in the control panel,printers and faxes
once you go into the properties and click on the device settings and click on service this device you will get option to print alignment sheet
this should work

Yes that is possible. Did you plugged the usb cable during driver installation ? During driver installation the usb cable must not be plugged. after the installation step asks you plug it in, then you plugged it. If not, the system wont recognized your printer. Be sure to uninstalled the previous installation before you re-install the driver

Hallejuia!!! Someone from the Dell community forum posted this....it worked!!!

Yes. It has something to do with the time change. I had to go into the time in my pc and manually adjust (take off automatic daylight savings) the time. Once you do this you need to restart your system. That should take care of the issue.
