I'm not sure if this will work as I have yet to try this for my self. But according to others who have had this problem pulling lens out while camera is off and then restarting camera works. If this does work please notify. Or just tell me what happens when this is done
This problem is quite common with this camera. Try pulling the lens out gently all the way till the lens cover opens. Then you twist it gently till you hear a click and it should be fixed. Let me know how it goes.
whilst reading out loud instruction to fix the 'zoom error' my wife turned and twisted the zoom lens clockwise and shake th camera gently - all of a certain it worked again as per normal - try it - hope it works for you too!
Sound like the mechanism is jammed, I had the same problem with a fuji finepix camera after about 3 years of usage and there was noting that I could do to fix it.. It's was only 2 MP so I didnt even conside thinking about the expense of getting it repaired.
Unless you're camera is really good I wouldn't recommend getting it repaired, the minimum charge at places like Currys is £50..
This is a common problem with this camera and it needs to be sent back to Fuji for repair.I've been through it three times and then they replaced the A350 with an A400 and now I'm having the same problems with the A400. They want to swap it with a E500. Both of these replacements are less of a camera then the A350. If they won't repair it under warranty I suggest you stay away from Fuji cameras in the future,I know I will never buy one again
