Do you have any power or display that might give clue to root cauae but dhe two most likely issues that i would first eliminate are protection of electric circuit when the volatge spikes during a power on grid cycle and master reset or other resetfp. many homes are not well grounded thus putting strain on lower cost power for consumer product. inexpensive surge protectors might be robust enough to use in time for actual date. the other is a switch located behind plastic horizontal grill. a hard reset via holding start button while power cycling might restore the cpu lockup ot main bord toaster. if this doesnt help more detail is needed. cheers, tai other thing concerns a precious pbut i? .his might be only a ailed couis condensor is not sufficient and your product that might be your root cause

Why will frigidaire dehumidifier model lad704tdl not collect water

Good Afternoon Friend,

I see that you are having trouble with your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FDF50S, collecting water. First, make sure that there is 12 inches clearance around your dehumidifier. Secondly, the dehumidifier could have been installed recently or restarted recently or possibly there was a power surge. Lastly, check the room temperature. Your appliance will not operate satisfactorily if the room temperature is below 41F (5C) or above 96 F (35 C) degrees. If you are still having trouble, try unplugging your dehumidifier for 3-5 minutes. After plugging it back in, if your dehumidifier is still not collecting water, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Had moisture on top for a few days. Then just quit running. Turned it off, let it for a day, turned it back on, it ran for a little bit and quit again and now will not run at all.

Error message CH 24. Any ideas? I have the LD651EBL dehumidifier.

We;ve managed to clear this error, at least for the last 5 days. Remove the bucket, and reach up behind the front panel where there is a filter- ours was covered in dust. After cleaning this off, and resetting the machine (by pulling the electric plug out and re-inserting), the error went away.
Your mileage may vary.

My dehumidifier is making a power surge every few minutes. why?

A dehumidifier is functionally the same as an air conditioner. It has a compressor motor, which is a fairly high current draw item.

First of all, unless you are well versed in electrical repairs, you should unplug this unit and do not use it. This is a dangerous condition and a fire or electrocution could result.

One of four things is happening:

1) You have a wiring fault in the circuit your humidifier is plugged into. There is a loose connection in the circuit, causing a voltage drop, and the humidifier therefore has to pull much more current to start it's compressor. This is a very dangerous condition, as an electrical fire could result. Try plugging the unit into another circuit and see if it does the same thing.

2) the compressor of the humidifier is going bad and is shorting out internally. Time for a new unit.

3) Many compressor motors use a 'start capacitor' to help the motor get going. If this part has failed, the motor will try to start, but it will not be able to.

4) There is a fault in the power cord or controls of the humidifier. Just like #1 above, a loose connection could cause a voltage drop, making the unit draw high current.

most of these units are standard 110V units. If yours uses 220V (like an electric dryer), then it could have 'lost a phase' which is also a similar electrical issue.

The main board in my Haier HDN455 is dead. I have power to it, then none of the power lines leaving are hot. We had a power outage and it went after that. Any luck in finding a new one?

The applaince parts companies that I work with do not provide a replacement main board. You can write or call the manufacturer to try to get a replacement main board.

These problems occur because of voltage spikes that occur during power outages and lightening storms. You should consider installing whole house surge protection.

All of your electronic equipment is subject to damage; investing a couple hundred dollars for a good surge protector may save you $1000s of dollars in the future.

I am a licensed Master Electrician, and I provide fee-based DIY assistance. The fee is based upon the scope of work. The fee for assistance in installing a house surge protector is $25. Please go to http://taeckertindustries.com/serv01.htm to obtain DIY assistance

M7DH45B2A dehumidifier does not have auto restart when power goes

No. I went away for a week and set mine up in the tub. Power went out and it was off when I got home. You could buy a UPS ( unterruptable power supply) from the computer area in Walmart and hook it up to it. This would allow it to still run for a while and if the power came back on while it was still under battery power it would run like it was running. You can buy larger UPS units that would keep it running for longer amounts of time. Just an idea.
