Software apparently does not recognize or XP does not recognize the Vupoint Scanner. I have not been able to use it.
There is an OVT Scanner listed among my programs.

I bought it and used in XP about a year ago but cannot now use it with XP; some driver is not now available or changes made to XP now prevent it's use.
not yet installed
Same problem. It installed the first time but will not install again. Driver error.
Have installed software including driver but when opening PhotoImpressions program to begin scanning computer will not recognize anything connected to USB port. Displays OVT Scanner as default.
I have the same problem. I am very frustrated!
I have a vupoint scanner. Worked fine initially. Now I cannot get the computer to recognize that the physical scanner exists. I've tried to reinstall the software. It seemed to be successful. Turned the computer off and back on. Plugged in the scanner and the computer did not recognize that a scanner had been attached.
I can get the scanner to display the negative in Windows Explorer (it is a live enlargement, sort of like I'm looking in a telescope... but if I wanted a blown up negative, I could have just used my photo scanner. Photo Impression acknowledges that I have an OVT scanner, and I can click on "calibrate" and "acquire", but nothing happens at all. I got a "blue screen" once when I left the Windows Explorer "microscope" view on for a few minutes. I've tried removing the scanner in device manager and reinstalling drivers... to no avail. The have ZERO FAQs and T-shooting support on their website. Why are there so many problems and NO answers on this page?? Is this thing a piece of junk? What are we all missing?
Exactly the same problem. It used to work before, but now with SP3 and the latest driver, simply the PC does not recognize the scanner anymore, making it a very ugly paper holder on my desk
same problem. Used to work, not recognized anymore.
Worked fine with xp will not work with vista
I cannot get my computer to regonize my device. I keep getting an error that says, "Device Cannot Start (Code10)." I called the company and they were no help. They told me that it was my computer that was the problem. I would never recommend the slide scanner FS-C1-VP or anything else made by VuPoint solutions.
I have the same problem. Works fine till I get to the point of scanning, then nothing happens.
Used to work on previous Windows XP desktop. I cannot get it to work on my XP laptop; it keeps looking for some kind of camera.
Neither will it work on Windows Vista.
