What type of copier? A professional grade or SOHO AIO? Check the glass where the copies take place, including where ADF copies, make sure there are no debris. If you can look to see if there are any debris or faults in the scanner assembly. If that's ok it could be many things. If it is a higher end copier it could be as simple as dirty corona wires or as bad as a worn drum.
restart the copier while holding down the "0" and "5" keys. you will now be in service mode. enter "5" and press "start" key a number should show up in the display. this is the exposure value - how dark or light the copies will be. 5 is the automatic exposure setting. around 128 is the normal value. the larger this value the lighter the copies are - the smaller the value the darker the copies.
Enter a new number (exposure value) and press the "interupt" key to save the value. Restart the copier and check what the copies look like. Keep adjusting until it looks good/better.
Hello sir; Everything you can clean but drum, that's most sensity part, UNTOUCHABLE , I believed you damaged the drum already, go change one meanwhile change cleaning blade too.
Have you had the optics cleaned resently? If not Iwould start with that and make sure you have the copier unpluged and don't forget to clean the two mirrors under the Black Box/cover. It could also, mean that you need a new OPC drum and blade.. It depends on how maiy copies are on the copier and drum...
One the cassette drawer, there is a key that indicates the paper size. It is notched in a way to tell the machine what you have loaded. These notches engage a set of switches in the front of the machine, visible when the drawer is pulled out. What happens, is the friont of the drawer moves. It is screwed down in two places I think. Loosen the screws, and align it properly. It should be obvious, because you need to align it with the largest line in the index set. The front drawer plate is adjustable is what I am trying to say. The switches will engage properly, and all should be well!
