My RCA SDTV continues to turn off and on by itself

27V530t......my TV powers off and on all by itself and wont stay powered.Can you help ?

Speaking from experience here: RCA TVs have solder problems. If you have a soldering iron, the first thing you should do is pull the chassis out, flip it over and check the solder joint near the fly back transformer. (will look something like this).

Inspect carefully and look for cracks in the solder. Use this as a starting point then work your way across the board, reflow any bad solder you find.

I can't begin to tell you how many RCA TVs I have fixed just by doing this... too many to count.

My dad has a 27" rca sdtv truflat tv a 2006
there is a major fault in the main circuit board (pcb) and needs to be fixed its not a fuse it not a reset problem its a dynamic fault that could be from a bad resistor to a downed capacitor if you have knowledge of these components then check them using a multimeter find the faulty parts and replace accordingly. but if you have no idea then it will need to go into the repair shop. a lot of our customers ask us if the unit (tv) etc after being fixed will be any good or should they buy a new one. a good tech will fix the unit and in most cases it will be tweeked and work better but always get a quote up front and hold them to it within $50.00

Possessed TV
Either get a priest to do an exorcism..... or it sounds like an internal issue.... likely a bad capacitor. if you are able to do some basic troubleshooting ... remove the back and look for any capacitors with rounded tops.
