The small round metal mesh discs inside the kitchen tap have fallen out & will not stay in when re-inserted. Now the water squirts out at weird angles drenching the kitchen work surfaces. Do I need a whole new tap or is there something else I can do to repair the existing tap. Thanks, Jean

It may be the oil in the popcorn---do you own one of the covers that go inside to cover so food does not splatter?

mine had a small round plastic push in pry out retaining button on the frount side of the disc once that was removed the disc turned out of its locked position & droped out

I had the same problem after 3 day's use. I discovered the metal punch was flattened. I used a pliers to bend it gently back up and it worked for a while. It quit again so I'm returning it. Meanwhile, I punch a hole on the bottom of the k-cup and line it up at the top when I insert it. It works that way.

There is no washer in that tap it is a ceramic insert which you will have to order from manufacturer or elsewhere.
Turn off the water supply, unscrew tap actuator (knob) (remove screw and pull), there will be a large nut to undo....undo it and withdraw the insert. Cleaning it thoroughly may help. it's worth a try as there only has to be a small impediment on the ceramic and it will leak.

Are you certain there is no metal or metal containing racks or dishes?

BTW, wire racks (round wire) are ok because the microwaves travel around the round wire. Flat metal reflects and causes arcing.

Mine has a open slot on the top front of the door. Kinda like a double plate window execpt for the opening in front. Why is this there? I don't know. Weird design. But it leaves for the possibilty of liquid to splash in there leaving it hard to clean (like impossible).

I'm thinking I have to completely remove and disect the door.

There is a plastic inner sheet that covers and protects the metal mesh that's in between the door panels.

If food, grease, or moisture gets on the metal mesh, it can be damaged, which can cause leakage, resulting in arcing and possible fire.

So the inner sheet must be repaired or replaced.

If the hole is not too big, you can use an Xacto knife or razor blade to cut away the damaged part, then clean & dry it thoroughly, and apply a small piece of clear packing tape over the area.

Otherwise, you can replace the sheet.

this maybe the spring in the door has fallen off is the latch head very loose in the door if it is it maybe the hook on the bottom of the latch head has broken off, to get to the latch you need to pry the inner door trim off as u do this you will need to lift the the latch head up the trim is only cliped in so if you start in between the 2 hooks of the latch then work your way round the door you should be ok when you are inside the latch then have a look and see if the spring is still in place and not fallen off or loose if it has fallen off look at the bottom of the latch you should see a small hook at the end if this is miss then you need the latch please unplug the unit before you undertake any work on an appliance hope this helps

That clear cover (sometimes called the inner door screen) is very important.

It protects the metal mesh / screen from debris and corrosion. The metal screen allows you to see "what's cooking" (*grin*) but prevents microwaves from leaking out of the door due to the precise size of the openings in the mesh.

If the mesh rusts or gets grease or food on it, it can arc, and this can damage the screen, then microwaves can leak, causing a burn or fire hazard. (No "radiation" threat, though)

If no arcing or other damage has occurred yet, you can clean the area squeaky with alcohol, then dry it completely and use the smallest possible amount of clear Scotch tape or packing tape to cover the tear and make sure it's flat.

If this fix doesn't work, or it's too big an area, you will have to replace the sheet, which can be ordered.

You'd have to heat it up with a hair dryer, peel it off slowly, then clean the area with something like acetone, then peel and stick the new one.

The brown spots are usually grease / smoke deposits. Usually there are indeed two sheets of glass in the door. If the grease is not arcing or smoking, and the metal screen / mesh (that blocks microwave leakage) is not damaged, then it's likely better left alone. It might be useful to boil a few cups of water with a little vinegar inside the microwave to help dissolve the deposits. In case you want to take it apart, I have attached a photo from a similar model that illustrates disassembly of the door. It is not necessary or advisable to remove the door or hinges when disassembling the door.
