It could be an overly sensitive GFCI. If you replace it first, because it is cheaper than a motor, then you can determine whether you need a new motor.

I've had a problem like this. Can you safely power the pump from a non gfi outlet for a while? Once it runs and whatever is causing this condition dries out, you can plug it back into the gfi.

Setting the pump for 115V wont by itself cause the trip. There is either a ground in the circuit or the GFI is bad. You may want an electrician to test any further than this.
