It would be nice if people would forget about bad loads or adjusting a load, uusually if a wash machine is making noise and now it won't spin, there is probably something alot more wrong then the load, thanks for nothing, bm

It doesn't look like a belt problem, it "sound" more than a problem with the transmition between the drive motor and the inner tub. Another direction - maybe that a sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub and prevent tub's spining. Good luck !

The noise could've been caused gy the machine being out of plumb or badly loaded (too much load on one side. The fact that it would cause the machine to jump around could mean your belt has simply fallen off. Does it sound as if the motor is still working. If it doesn't it could mean the machine needs a reset. Somewhere on the back should be a plastic button to reset the electronics. It would be a lot easier to see the machine but I don't do house calls :-)

Coleen, you can get a visual on the belt by removing the two bottom screws on the front panel and pulling down a little on it and pulling it out from the bottom. There will be two clips that hold it on the top. Make sure your lid switch is operative first of all. After you have the front panel off, put it into spin and see what happens. If the belt seems to be o.k., there could be other problems. One of them would be the transmission itself. You do have a five year warranty on the trans..parts only. You could have something in the pump which would cause the motor to bind and not turn the trans. Or you could have something between the basket and tub causing your problem. Truley hope this helps..

SOURCE: fridigaire fwb9200es1 washer making rattling noise when spinning

Hello terilym - From what you have described it sounds like you possibly have foreign objects such as coins or safety pins in the tub or pump. I suggest unplugging the washer and carefully check the tub and to verify that the drum is also not damaged. If noise continues after washer is restarted, objects may be in the actual pump. Contact a professional to accurately diagnose and repair the unit.

Spin cycle wont wor, just maes a noise and wont drain

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. If your washer doesn't drain or spin, you may read and learn what parts may cause this. First, you will want to check your water pump. You need to make sure it is working. Make sure you check the belt on the pump. Make sure it is not broken or loose. Also, make sure your pulley is not stuck in place. Sometimes, they will stick or barely turn at all. If this is the case, you will need to replace it. If the pump, pulley, and belt are working, make sure your motor is working. You should be able to hear it if it is. If it isn't, check your lid switch. The lid switch can cause the motor to not work. It may need adjusted. If not, go ahead and change it. A bad lid switch may cause the washer to not work at all. Now, if your pump is pumping and the washer still won't spin, you will want to check your belt and clutch. Once again, the belt may be broke or loose. Check to make sure your clutch is not worn also. This may be a case of a bad lid switch again as well. You could have a bad drive motor. This is what controls spinning, draining, and agitation. You could have a broken motor coupler. Over time, they will go bad and need replaced. It is possible that your transmission is slipping or damaged. And lastly, you could have a bad basket drive ir spin bearing. This is what allows the inner tub to move. If this is the case, you will probably hear loud sounds or loud banging. I want to thank you for reading and I hope this helps you. Best regards and thanks for reading

Maytag Performa PAV2300AWW screaching noise, belt problem, pulley broke

My Maytag Performa was making the loud squealing noise. I changed out the water pump/bearing, took care of the problem.
Putting a new belt on just help burn up the bearing (they needed replacing) and probably ruined the new belt. Probably seized the water pump bearing and the belt jumped and broke the motor pully. A washing machine motor is very strong, when that h20 pump bearing seized (or possibly some bearings jamed up) the motor kept on turning that belt and the plastic pully gave in. You'll need to replace that also. If the h20 pumb bearing is turning freely, likely the bearings jammed up but or now loose. That bearing should be tight, no slack or play in it. You can probably wobble the pully on it all around while turning it. The slightest slack is too much.
