I was doing a search for infor on how to clean my affinity front load washer, and came across this infor and this did not work for me either, but when I turned my dial to rinse and spin then hit clean the clean option appeared.

First, you put some bleach or tide washing machine cleaner inside. Then you make sure the washer is on and hold the spin speed button and the options button down at the same time for 10 seconds. You will see "Cln" appear on the display screen. Hit start and you are golden.

If you hold it down 1st time it may display a time "45" then hold them down a second time and you will see "CLN"

It depends on the year it was made/model. I have an affinity front loader and to get the clean cycle started you to have to put it on the “rinse & spin” cycle and then select “clean washer” button on the options panel (it will light up green next to the button).
    Then hit start.

You need to hold the buttons for at least 10 sec for Cln option to show on the display

My manaul says to add 1/2 cup of bleach to the detergent compartment and then fill the bleach compartment to the max fill line and then do a normal cycle without clothes. it says to do this once a month. it also recommends leaving the detergent door pulled out when not in use, and leave the door open when not in use.... b/c as i'm sure you've smelled- it mildews super fast.... for really gross mildew problems it says you can use up to 3 cups of bleach.

With my Frigidaire Affinity I turned the knob to Hand Wash and held down the button for Clean Washer for 3 seconds and the option appears.

I have a AFT7000 series and I have not been able to put it into the clean cycle. I’ve tried holding down the spin speeds and options buttons, I’ve done the factory reset and I’ve tried turning the dial to different settings and holding the buttons but still can’t get the clean cycle to appear. Any other options that I can use?

Try contacting Electrolux 1-800-944-9044 Mon- Fri 8:30 AM - 8 PM (Covid-19 could have an impact on their availability) or do a Google Search using your "(Your Product Brand Name, Model Number and Serial Number) along with these terms: "How To perform inside routine cleaning preventative and or inside cleaning aggressive Care and Clean Instructions All about the Use & Care of your washer Owners Manual" hopefully you'll be able to find either the manual or more detailed instructions for your particular model. Good Luck
