Are you sure the sour milk smell is coming from *inside* the dishwasher? Do you have kids? Pull out the dishwasher, the fridge and the stove and look for spilled soured milk. When the windows are open, the breeze is blowing the smell.

I have seen this so many times in commercial kitchens during my 50 year career.

Maybe it's worth trying an enzyme based drain cleaner in it. It should break down any cooking grease/oil in it and kill off the bacteria that is causing the stink. They are safe for septic tanks and garbage disposals. I would use a dose of the enzyme cleaner the same way as you'd use regular dishwashing cleaner and run a full cycle with the machine empty and see how it goes. Chec your vent pipe in rear. I have seen them fill with water that gets acidic and starts to stink.

Eggs cause wet dog smell in my dishwasher. Prewash anything that has come in contact with either raw or cooked eggs before putting it in the dishwasher. I haven't had the smell since I figured this out.

That may be kind of difficult to do but it won't hurt the Egg. I would just put some unlit charcoal in the Egg then get some going in a chimney starter (also using newspaper by the way) and dump it on top of the unlit charcoal. You probably don't want to add lit charcoal directly onto the Egg's ceramic surface since it could crack. At least I wouldn't try it, my Egg cost too much :)
