I keep getting various lens errors..... most of the time it is the lens error 111... but sometimes it is the error 115. tonight just by turning on my camera it will show error 115 and shut immediately off. I figured since we had gone to the beach with it there might be some sand along the edges, so I undid the screws so I could lightly brush with a soft fine tipped paintbrush. I put it back together and it is back to saying lens error 111. what does this mean? My model is kodak easyshare C160

Often times a lens error comes up when the lens extension/focus mechanism has been jammed. It may almost fully function, but then the gears run into a small spot where those tiny gears are jammed, broken, have debris on them, etc. When the motor hits unexpected resistance, the camera kicks back the lens error code and shuts down before it does further damage to itself. Make sure there isn't anything wedged between where the pieces of the lens slide past each other. Past that, the best solution I can offer is to look on ebay... most cameras either die because the lens mechanism breaks, or because the LCD screen breaks. If you can find a donor camera with a bad screen, you can combine the best of both at a pretty reasonable price. These cameras are quite complicated to transplant, but fortunately most lens mechanisms and sensors are a full unit of themselves, and so are the lcd screens. Before investing in the donor camera, take yours apart and see how difficult it appears to be to work on it. Then make your decision. Good luck!
Make sure all the moving parts of the lens are free to move. If you dropped the camera or spilled something sticky on the lens part, it may be stuck and the camera cannot turn on.
Try this at you own risk:
1. Try jiggling the lens with your fingers while turning on the camera, helping it to pull out. 2. If there is something sticky keeping the lens from opening, try to use a warm damp cloth to dissolve it. 3. If nothing works, bring it to a repair center. for me when i was getting the lens error 111, the lens shutters were set crooked and was able to move them slightly and the error went away and the camera works fine now.
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Power off the printer, take the Magenta cartridge out, take a lint and dust-free cloth or tissue and clean the hysinc mirror and the printerhead lens. I just did it and it took me three minutes to clean with toilet paper rolled up like a cigarette. My printer is back on line. The hysinc mirror and printerhead lens is in the printer not on the magenta cartridge. Reinstall the print cartridge and power on. This has happened to me before with a different color.
