I bought a sony psp for my son and i need to know how to access the internet and be able to put videos on there for him

To access the Internet you first need a wireless connection available. Assuming you have that, navigate to the settings>network settings. You then set up the connection. After the connection is set up, select the World Wide Web icon to access the internet.

The easiest way to put videos on the PSP is connecting it to a computer via USB and finding the video folder. If you don't have one, create a new folder named "VIDEO" in all caps. Just drag and drop the videos into this folder. You can also try downloading a program that manages all your PSP media like photos, videos, music etc.

My pc does not recognize the psp go, i downloaded a game for my son's new psp go ( 6 year old Dell) is there another way to down load games? i have a mac which isn't compatable with sony. is there a way...

First things first. A Mac is not a PC. A Mac is a Mackintosh computer made by apple. A PC is a Windows computer made by mackintosh. Yes there is a way to download the game without using your computer. You can download the game from the playstation store on the psp go.
Note: for the following steps you will need to leave the PSP alone until the game is downloaded and this will require a wireless network connection or a psp wireless internet transmitter which you can buy separately at www.codejunkies.com.
1) scroll to far right of main screen
2) choose the sign up for playstation network option
3) sign in with your existing account
4) enter the playstation store once you are signed in and find the game you want then download it.

I dont know my wep key for my psp

If you are trying to connect to a wireless network using your PSP, what you need is the WEP for the wireless network.

If you are using a home wireless network you would need to ask the person who set the WEP key.

Or, you could go to the wireless router, and there should be a little reset place to push with a pin. Press it, hold it for twenty seconds or so, and then go onto a computer connected to the wireless router and enter in the MAC address that you should be able to find on the bottom of your router on a little sticker.or if that is not found, you can do a search on your wireless router's MAC address on the internet. Just do a search in Google or Bing or whatever for the wireless router model and look for the router's web address.

Enter that address (which should look like a xxx.xxx.x.x format) into the address bar on the Internet Browser. You will be taken to your router's webpage where you can change that information. You sign on as Admin, usually there is no need for a password after a hardware reset, and you should see a security setting option. Select the WEP or WPA setting and enter in your own key. Write it down, because if you have any other computers or devices connected to the wireless router they will all need to set their internet secuirty protocol to that new key or they will not be able to access the internet.

Go into your PSP Network settings and go through the options, enter in your new key, and bam! Your there. :)

Or you SHOULD be.

If you are in a new area, you will need to know their key or hope you are in a place with unrestricted access. :)

(If you didnt know, If you have a PS3 you can connect to it REMOTELY through your PSP if you register them together, and watch movies downloaded to your PS3, listen to music, look at your pictures, about everything but play games that you have on your PS3. From just about anywhere in the world that you have internet access through your PSP and your PS3 is connected. But that's a different matter! ;) )

Internet connection of psp

To connect to the internet on your PSP, you need a Wireless Router or Wireless Access Point. Once you have a wireless one, you should know the name of your router. That's what an SSID (Service Set Identifier) is.
Once you know this information you should be able to find your router on your PSP. Once you do you should have a password on your router so no one you don't know can use your internet. When adding a connection on your PSP you will also need to enter the password for your router. You can use WEP, WPA-PSK (TKIP) or WPA-PSK (AES). WPA-PSK (TKIP) or WPA-PSK (AES) have very high security and WEP has a lower security.
Once you have added your connection, just type an address and surf! Not all websites will load because some require too much memory.

Assuming you have Official SONY PSP Firmware, Update to the latest version by going to Settings>Network Update. Locate your router and use it as the network connection.
Download the needed files and update by going to Game>Memory Stick>PSP Update.

Once you finish Update, go to Network>Internet Radio>About Internet radio. It will take you to a website to download the files needed and will install to your Memory Stick.

To put music on your Memory Stick, the Music must be MP3, AAC, M4A or WMA format.
Open your memory stick on your computer by pluggin in a USB cable to your PSP and going to Network>USB Connection or you can put the memory stick in a card reader.
Once in the root of your memory stick, there should be a folder called "Music". Put your music in there or in one more folder inside that. Two folders inside of each other will not be playable.

Place videos in the "Video" folder on the root of your memory stick.
Videos need to be MP4 format. 368X208 Highest MPEG4 Codec, or 480X272 x264 or AVC codec.

Its a free and very good converter. Try it

You can go online with the PSP system and browse the Internet. To start browsing the Internet

See Setting up Infrastructure mode for details.

    • Internet Connection
Make sure you have an internet connection and your PSP is within range of the wireless access point (or hotspot).
PSP®online connectivity requires internet service and network devices, suchas a DSL or cable modem and a wireless router - for example, a Wi-Fihotspot at a café or a wireless local area network (WLAN) in your home.

    • System Software
Make sure you've got the latest System Software.
Requires PSP system software version of 2.0 or higher. Visit PSP System Software Update to download and install the most recent version.

How to creat a folder to memorystick

First you connect to a pc, then go to the folder labeled psp...find a folder called music and paste in there. or just create a folder in the psp folder called music and again, paste the songs in there. If you want to listen to music, you have to enable wma play back found in system settings in the psp, but you have to have a wireless network to download the wma download(that is just if you didn't know). I hope that this helped!

How to get internet on my psp

Look its not necessary get internet on ur psp. Its how to connect to the internet on the psp. You are gonna need a wireless internet network. Usually at food restaurants, or at ur house. Its not like you can connect the psp with a cable to the internet. Its all wireless hottie262477. To find wireless go all the way to your left on the psp and turn on the wifi button. Then go ur settings and all the way down to network settings. From there click on infracture mode. And scan for wireless hotspots. Of course any wireless one that says it needs a wep code. Means that it has a password and if you don't know the password you can't necessarily access it. So use the no password hotspots. Also remember its very easy to connect a wireless network in your house as long as u have high speed internet. Now that you this u can enjoy ur psp and play online and use the web browser. Good luck Diego :-)

Cannot Enable WMA Playback

what ever you do, DO NOT RESET SETTINGS cause then you just have to reset them and it wont do you any good. I had the same problem. The most lodgicall way to solve this is just to spend like 3 bucks at mcdonalds and get the wifi so you can play online multiplayer, go on the internet, and fix the wma feature. Or you could just free load off of a friends wifi or wirless setup. But you may have to enter a security code.

Sony psp

Hi PrincessDi,

The PSP can only connect to the internet through WIFI.  You can ride around to find a hot spot, or go to an internet cafe'.  I can go to the big sity nearby on main street and always pick up a hotspot. Run network connection to setup the wifi and connect.  In your home you will need internet, and a router setup to broudcast Wifi.  The USB port on your PSP is for loading up stuff like music Video and games.  You could go online on your computer and go to www.playstation.com and download Music,Video, Wallpapers, Screenshots, and trial Games. Then hook up your PSP through the USB connection to load whatever you downloaded on your computer to the MagicGate Card in your PSP.  WWW.Playstation.com also has the manual you can download under PSP and Support.
