You can buy commercial products, or run some wax paper through your machine periodically. The wax will not gum up like oil and attract dirt.

This could be a setting for a timeout of the LCD screen. It may be a defective product if you cannot print or send test prints.

Sometimes debris can gets in the way of the sensor that tells the shredder it is safe to shred. Empty the shredder completely and see if the lite is still lit.

It may not be a 'door' but there is a protective cover over the shredder blades and that can be removed. A sensor sees if it is properly in place. Try removing the top and replacing (power off of course)
