Your description sounds like plumbing from before bacteria was discovered. The output from a Saniflo macerator should be sent to a foul drain or cesspit and not a rainwater drain.
Some authorities allow local rainwater runoff into foul drains but this situation is gradually being designed out.
Could be your Saniflo installation didn't meet building regulations when it was installed. The fact it has been working fine for 2 years doesn't count for anything if it doesn't.

Sorry but they give you 8" for a reason, they did the testing etc. You might get by at 5" but that will probably just get by and limit the service life.
The "tank level" switch is stuck on. You may be able to clear it by cleaning the system/pump with a water hose (outside of course) so you will have to take the system apart then give it a good cleaning. May not help but at least you will have tried.
There is a product called Wham that works very well for this appplication. You will probably have to go to a plumbing supply outlet to find it. Just follow directions on container after you have the system clean and use monthly. It also helps with odor control. Hope this helps you. Thanks.
The sound you are hearing is the check valve. Usually this valve is just above the pump. It's nothing to be concerned about, it's a normal noise, or it's the nature of the beast.
Question edited for correct spelling of maker 'Noen' to 'Moen'.
'Fix' as in it is leaking? Or tighten it down because it is wobbly, or something completely different?
Well, we can have a one on one seminar by the internet. I've been a pumpman for 20 years. I can share with you my experience (household pumps, suibmersible pumps, turbine pumps, gear pumps, piston pumps, dewatering pumps, mud pumps, trash pumps, mining pumps, solids handling pump, etc....) Just take your pick. Just send in your e-mail for assistance. God bless.
Move the lever or turn the knob. Check the stop tap under the sink. Make sure the faucet control knob or lever is tight, There is normally a removable cover that hides the screw..
