You must replace it.

make sure printer is off. Then old down escape and online button at the same time. Continue to hold these two buttons down then turn on printer. Continue to hold those two buttons down (will take about 2 - 3 minutes). This should clear that message - worked for me!!!

it could be the coagulation of ink in between the cartridgebetter dip it in mild hot water for some times and replace it wiping the water. it would do the trick and solve your problem . it has been practicallytested.

It's likely dried-up. You'll need to replace the cartridge.

You need to download the utilities for the printer.....the utilities will clear up the error code on the printer.....Just go to the company's website and look for the title drivers and software or drivers and support...If you need more help feel free to ask......

Error 990 means the problem is with the scanning unit which is basically called a laser unit as well that requires a replacement.
