Haier Mechanical Air Conditioner HWF05XC7 - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Strange straining sound
Either compressor is going bad or the fan is rubbing. There is a condensor fan that comes on only when the compressor starts. So check the fan out first to make sure that it is not rubbing or moving around. If that is not then check the compressor by letting it run for about 5 minutes then touch the top of the compressor. BE careful as it can be extremly hot that will show you one of two things either bad compressor or condensor is dirty and a garden hose with a jet blast of water will solve the problem. If that doesnt work either compressor is bad and will either need to be replaced for about 250 dollars or unit will need to be replaced
Styrofoam inside of my Haier HWF05XC7
It should remain there it is the insulation seperating the condensing side from the evaporating side you may nve to reach in and move it around to prevent the destruction of the foam.
Loud as Hell
Is it installed in a window? Check to make sure it is installed correctly. usually there is a felt or foam strip that is used to dampen vibration when you place it in the window. It also acts as seal to keep outside air and bugs out. If you place your hand at various locations on the unit does the sound go away? If it does then you know it is a vibration problem. Just add new foam or re-adjust the foam or gasketing it already has.
If that doesn't work then try to locate the source of the noise. Use a mechanics stethoscope or even a cardboard tube from paper towels will work. Once you have located the source then you can tell the store what the problem is when you take it back and get a new one.
Cheap air conditioners are noisy. Some more than others, it's why they are cheap. But your problem does sound like it could be a product issue.
Spits out alot of water!
It needs to be installed sloping slightly outside. It is not meant to be level. Use boards or whatever to do this. If this doesn't solve the problem the drain channel is plugged. Take off the outer case and look at the bottom there should be some kind of channel from in front to the back. Use a turkey baster or something to flush it. The back may be fairly deep to hold some water. Don't drill a hole. Some units keep some water in the back so the outside fan can throw it through the condensor to help cool it.
Installation
No, you can not turn it on its side. That is a no no. You are between a rock and a hard place in this case. No to your second question also. If you are really desperate you can put it part way through a door frame and block off the rest of the door as a temporary measure.
Haier 5,200 BTU
there should be a rubber plug on the right hand side from the outside 2 black round " corks" if you see them remove them and your problem should be solved
Air conditioner
Unit is low on Freon. Take it to a repair shop to find the leak & recharge the unit.
Haier heat pump 2yr old
I would start by checking or having the motor run capacitor read for it's value in microfarads.
Did not come with manual
You can download a Manual for that model in .pdf form at this URL: -->

Hope that helps! ;)
Haier mini split E7 and exterior fan not working
On a Haier Split system a E7 error is a failure of the outdoor inverter PCB and the outdoor power supply PCB. Both will need replacing. Looking around $600 for those parts. Plus fitting. The indoor PCB is very unlikely to be needed.
