Its playing the record to fast do i need to change

Unlikely- it might be in the wrong position, but that could be caused by the belt being slack, in which case you would need to replace it. Check the belt is set up right and if it slips out again replace the belt. Otherwise look around inside for another cause. IE faulty power supply to the motor.

Playing records too slowly

It's likely that the belt has moved off where it should be. If the stylus was damage it would slide across the record or cause poor sound. It would not affect the speed unless there was too much pressure on the stylus, but you would feel that as the head of the arm would feel heavy.

Belt routing

Crowley has a video for how to check the drive belt on Vimeo here: https://vimeo.com/25463872 , and other support videos here: https://vimeo.com/user4579188 . You can find replacement belts, if necessary, on Amazon, eBay, and specialty sites by net searching for: Crosley <YourModelNumber> Turntable Drive Belt .

My player drags and changes tempo when the needle is first put on the player. After time it seems to fix itself but would like to remedy this as soon as possible. Can you tell me how to fix this?

Generally it is caused by the cartridge and stylus pressure not being right. At the end of the tone arm (not the cartridge end) you should find a weight. This needs to be adjusted. If there are numbers on it, start by moving it to a lesser number than the current setting. Move this only slightly. Then try a record. The stylus should stay in the groove, not rumble and not drag. It's best done via headphones. If it comes out of the groove too easily move the weight in the other direction and then test. You have to keep doing this till the sound is good. Too much rumble - reduce the weight, jumping out of the groove increase the weight. There might also be another control called an anti-skate control. This might be be helpful in your case as it will reduce the effect of the arm being pushed into the center of the record. Once again the settings of this control are based on trial and test like before. If you have had the stylus for some time also you might want to replace it, as stylus that are worn could cause it.

I always get static when adjusting the volume of

sounds like you have a dust build up on your volume switch? buy some electrical contact spray ( aerosol type ) remove the switch/knob........just pull it towards you, remove the knob and spray a bit......not too much and refit the knob and twiddle it about with the power off and then try it? repeat if necessary? good luck.

Cannot open cd area when

There are two likely causes:
  1. a CD is not located properly in the tray and is causing the drawer to stick. Solution - try to very gently insert a very thin blade at the bottom of the CD tray and prise it open - but don't force it if it won't budge. If that doesn't work try sliding the blade in at the top of the tray to press the CD down.
  2. If a jammed CD is not the cause then it is likely to be the rubber drive belt that operates the tray has broken - they are not normally accessible so take it to a repair shop

My records stop prematurely. the record stops

The only logical cause is a weak belt, as the arm reaches the center of the platter, the load on the belt becomes to great and it slips around the motor pole. I would replace the belt! Then see if it works.

Computer to stereo volume is very quiet...

Unless you have a choice of inputs, nothing.
If available, you can try a magnetic cartridge input which is much more sensitive than 'Line.'
It may be screechy though, different curve.

Volume setting is very high

That is unusual, and sounds like a manuf defect. If your unit is still under warranty, I would say send it in. If not, give them a call, and get a quote for repair. Unfortunately, due to the quality and value of these units, it will probably be cheaper to buy a new one.

How to manually open eject Crosley CR248 CD drawer

  1. Uh, I think you already have a solution but the following may help someone else.
  2. Ensure that the device is powered on.
  3. Press the "Function" button (28/58) to set the unit to CD mode.
  4. Press the "Open/Close" button (19/48) to open the CD drawer.
  5. Insert a CD into the tray with the label side facing up.
  6. Press the "Open/Close" button again to close the CD drawer.
If the above steps don't work, you can try the following:
  1. Unplug the device from the power outlet.
  2. Wait for a few minutes.
  3. Plug the device back in.
  4. Press the "Open/Close" button to see if the CD drawer opens.
If the drawer still doesn't open, there might be a mechanical issue with the device. Look for the Fixya advise referred to above. If if that doesn't work, in that case, it's best to contact Crosley's customer support for further assistance.

I have a Crosley CR80 gold series 4-1 record player and the records won't spin

Turn the arm that holds the element and needle careful to the far right and the turntable will spin. This is a safety feature for protecting the needle.
