Uninstalled the printer completely and than do a fresh USB installation. that should work.

If you go to the last menu item, called INITIAL SETUP the Date/Time is in there.
You can then change the date using the number pad and the OK key.

Please try to check the process of your printing. Do this;
1.) Click print in the doc you want to print. 2.) In the print dialog, click "Properties" 3.) Clik the "Advace" Tab (right beside the "Basic" tab) 4.) Check if "Grayscale" is selected. If yes, click "Colour" and proceed.
If this is not the case, try removing your printer in the Control Panel/Devices and Printers and install or add it again. This might help. (,'')

Solution: ------------- Open the scanner cover and remove any foreign objects inside the machine. If the error message continues, do one of the following: ?? Is this a new printer, check that the ink cartridges are fresh, could have dried up. Also if you just installed cartridges, check that the protective tape is off of it.

Had the same problem. The solution was: - uninstall the brother software with the application in the brother folder restart PC - reinstall mfl-pro Suite restart pc - install update to Controlcenter2 - install updated drivers
It then worked and I could finally scan over the network, for the first time ever!

To print fax send confirmation report:



You can use the Transmission Verification Report as proof that you sent a fax. This
report lists the time and date of transmission and whether the transmission was successful
(OK). If you choose On or On+Image, the report will print for every fax you send.
If you send a lot of faxes to the same place, you may need more than the job numbers to
know which faxes you must send again.

Choosing On+Image or Off+Image will print a section of the fax's first page on the report
to help you remember.

When the Transmission Verification Report is turned Off or Off+Image, the Report will
only print if there is a transmission error, with NG in the RESULT column.

yes you can your sometimes can get it from the company that makes them by going too there website they have the drivers i have checked for you.

If you mean film negatives or individual photograph slides, then no, it cannot. You would have to purchase a separate scanner designed specifically for those items.

Recently, I had a similar problem which turned out to be faulty non-original ink tanks (cartridges) - they had a valve which was supposed to allow air to be drawn in as ink was drawn out. It turned out they had "gummed up" and weren't allowing air in, so once a small amount of ink had been drawn out a partial vacuum was created and stopped the flow of ink.
If fitting new, original ink tanks and running the cleaning routines a few times doesn't fix the problem, then this could be several things, some of which may mean your machine will have to be repaired by a Brother agent (probably cost you more than a new one), and/or it's time to bin it.
However, sometimes it's just because the print head, or the pipes that connect the ink tanks to the printhead, have become blocked with dried out ink.
If you search on YouTube, you will find a few videos that show how to clear such blockages - you may not find your exact model number, but many Brother machines use almost identical components to many others so the basic technique will be the same. Also search on Ebay for printer cleaning/head blockage kits - quite a few printers (not just Brother) suffer similar problems and a few businesses have sprung up on EBay that sell kits to help you sort this. They sometimes have links to a video they have produced showing how to use the kit which can give you ideas. Again, your exact model number or even make might not come up but these kits might be adaptable to your machine. Got to be worth a tenner or so before binning it ! Good luck

The following may work: remove all the ink supplies. Remove the printhead and soak it for about 5 minutes in 0.5" of very hot water. Gently blot the printhead on a soft damp paper towel to remove the excess water, then replace in the printer and then reinstall the ink supplies.

reset the printer. ASfter that, re-check all paper way in your printer ( its possible that remain paper scam on it)

4F message indicates that the printhead is dead, you will need to replace it to make it work again. Before you replace it, you may want to try this, see if it will remove the clean unable error message: Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3. This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart, hopefully without the annoying cannot clean message.

Did you use generic carts?

Do use only original brother ink carts!
Only these have special cleaning fluids mingled with the ink.

There are several advantages, too:


You can run a special cleaning mode (DO insert original carts at first!!!)

Press menue then start bk copy then fourtimes arrow-up.
machine should switch to maintenance mode (buttons will flash).
press 7 then 6 then 4 then start bk copy. machine will refresh ink within the tubes and the print head and run a special cleaning routine. when finished press 7 then 6 then 3 then start bk copy to run a power cleaning. leave the maintenance mode by pressing 9 then 9.

The machine should print without proböems. If there is a poor quality left, the printhead is affected by bad ink and cant be fixed anymore.

1. Check the phone line by pluging in another phone there and calling out.
2. Make sure auto answer is on.
3. It's theres deeper problem like possibley the modem went out.

you need to install all the print cartridges in the printer to work the sensors in the print cartridges are needed for the printer while if the empty cartridge is inserted ans not working you will have to buy anew one
