E2 is an error with the unit's indoor temperature sensor. This is usually a sensor on the room side of the A/C unit which determines whether the room has been cooled to the set temperature of the unit. When you remove the cover, look for a copper colored tube across the face of the discharge follow it back to where it connects to the control circuit.
Danby air conditioner. Model #
I believe that model has a catch tray under the coils which catch the droplets of water and route that water into the tank. First, make sure your unit is pretty level. Then take a look at the bottom of the coils for the catch tray to make sure it's not dislodged or not level. Lastly check the catch tray outlet to make sure it's not blocked and will allow water to flow easily into the tank. The other thing is to make sure the tank is inserted correctly, and the catch tray water is routed into it. You don't mention if it ever worked correctly, but if this unit has been working for a long while, it may be dirty and you need to clean it to get the water to drip down correctly.

If you are referring to the unit doing this on the outside of the structure, this is normal. the "Hamster Wheel" is designed to carry a small amount of water and create a light amount of water to go onto the condenser to help with the evaporation and cooling process. If this is on the inside of the structure, the unit may not be level or another issue causing improper drainage.
