Everstar portable ac fills the overflow water
Air conditioners cause the moisture in the air to condense on the evaporator coil. The water that is created needs to have somewhere to drain. If the unit is in a humid environment, it will create allot of condensation. This kind of operation is not uncommon.

I have a Diplomat portable
I was having the same problem as the OP, thanks everyone who replied to this! I didn't know what to do when on a 40°C day my AC turned off and P1 came on the display, I just needed to empty the water ! It's actually a pretty good safety feature !
What is the P1 error code on an Everstar portable
U need to empty the internal bucket, its full of water.
I have this air conditioner. What I did was get a long plastic tube
from home depot and connect it to the middle back drain. I then put the
plastic tube outside my window, or if u have a drain somewhere put it
in there or put the end into a big bucket. Let gravity do its job. I
did not connect the tube to the internal bucket b/c I would have to
empty it too often. The air conditioner is on top of a table so that
water will flow down the tube and out the window.
I need to find a owners manual for an everstar portable air
Try going to the Danby website. They have owners manuals for many items that have been discontinued. Check to make sure you have the right model number as there is a white printed tag that they use as well as the one printed on the metal back. Sometimes they aren't the same. (Why, I don't know.) Otherwise, Google the number.
I have a dandy portable
The best place to start is the manufacturer, Danby. For parts not covered under warranty call
800-496-6049. In your unit is still under warranty call 800-263-2629.
Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.
My Everstar MPK-10CR portable 10,000 BTU's is blinkink P1 all tim
Just got one of these used, and also got the P1 error. Took the case off (which just involved a lot of Phillips head screwdriver turning), and found a sensor switch just to the left of the drain box inside the case. If I press on the sensor switch, the P1 error goes away, but then I get a blinking dot on the LCD display. Pressed the power button after that (while still holding the sensor switch) and it started working again. It looks like it was super-glued either originally or by a previous owner. Just needed to be re-positioned towards the top left corner where the drain pan sits. Just be careful when removing the case to not disconnect any of the wires going to the LCD display.
